Position:  Network Engineer

Datacom Location:  Anywhere in Australia except WA (due to timezone contraints)

Security Requirements: Citizens ONLY (residents will not be considered) - if you have baseline or NV1 security clearances, this is an advantage.

About the Role (Your Why)  

The purpose of this role is to provide Datacom and the customer with network solutions, technical guidance, solution implementation and timely updates all whilst maintaining a balanced approached to customer service and team collaboration.

You will be joining our growing Networks Managed Services team, working with a dedicated team to deliver excellence through building true partnership with our customers.

This is a full-time permanent role that may require some evening and weekend work as agreed with the customer and will be based in the Datacomoffice closest to you in our hubs of Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Canberra. The role can also be fully remote if you live on the Eastern side of Australia (due to the time difference with WA not working for our clients) and outside of those main hubs.

You must be a citizen (not resident) of Australia due to the need to be able to get security clearances. If you have security clearances already (baseline/NV1 etc) then that is a bonus.

What You’ll Do

You will be a member of a highly skilled network engineering team dedicated to delivering outcomes to our highly valued customers. You will be working on many different aspects of Networking and Security operations which may include client WAN and LAN, firewalls/security operations, IP-based Telephony systems.

We are a pretty agile company and are keen to respond to customer, technology and internal stakeholders’ changing requirements and this can mean we evolve in our roles to meet those needs.

What You’ll Bring

As a Network Engineer of this team, you will ideally bring:

  • Solid understanding and experience within network environments
  • Knowledge of networking protocols, including LAN protocols, BGP, RIP, NAT, OSPF/EIGRP, TCP/IP and Wireless (Cisco, Fortinet, Aruba, Arista)
  • Experience with router and switch technology as well as working knowledge in protocol analysis. Includes ability to configure, deploy, upgrade, and troubleshoot
  • Experience with DNS configuration and management
  • Exposure to Cloud Solutions: Azure, AWS
  • Experience with analysis and implementation of Firewall requests
  • Experience with diagnosis and troubleshooting using firewall analysis tools
  • Exposure to such Load Balancing technologies as F5, Global Server Load Balancing
  • Exposure to such Firewall/Network Security technologies as Fortinet, Checkpoint, Cisco, Palo Alto, IPS, and VPN
  • Experience with supporting VPNs
  • Experience with IP address management, NAT and PAT
  • Industry certifications are highly regarded
  • Holds CCNA Certification, CCNP preferred
