The New Business unit sits within the Customer Success team in our Customer Group. The Customer Group is the driving force behind our flagship sites, realestate.com.au and realcommercial.com.au. When you join the Customer Group, you join a cross-functional group of folks representing product, tech, sales and marketing, supported by PR, communications, HR, finance, legal – all the people you need to create products our consumers love and customers value. With realestate.com.au being the number one destination for people interested in property in Australia, as you can imagine - the group of legends working on our little red house are very passionate about what they do.

What the role is all about

  • Being a specialist in REA products that require proactive, hands-on support; engaging with customers and supporting them to maximise the value they’re receiving from these products 
  • Achieve revenue targets within defined portfolio, by identifying new opportunities, as well as taking advantage of opportunities provided by analytics.
  • Building strong relationships with customers while supporting them to migrate to new products with minimal effort and training them to use product features and services effectively 
  • Identify sales opportunities for other REA services, e.g. Media, Developer, Commercial etc and engage specialist sales resources as required to achieve the revenue targets
  • Create dependence on agencies and agents on the services and training provided by REA
  • Develop a systematic approach to the education and training of customers, ensuring that all customers can on-sell REA products to vendors including principals, agents, property managers, marketing and admin support
  • Minimise customer downgrades and cancellations (office closures excluded)
  • Ensure that the quality of property listings meets the Acceptable Use Policy
  • Delivering against measures of success, including customer satisfaction, adoption, usage, retention, and growth 
  • Collaborating across sales and service teams with a one REA mindset to ensure a simple and seamless experience and to optimise customer outcomes  

Who we’re looking for

  • Someone with a few runs on the board - Proven account management and sales experience and evidence of achieving sales targets essential
  • Strong customer focus and relationships skills: demonstrated ability to engage with and help customers succeed and to advocate for their needs 
  • A strong listener with commercial nous to support an understanding of each customer’s business and what success looks like for them; property industry (or similar) experience, SAAS is desirable  
  • A proactive and empathetic approach to diagnosing and analysing customer problems and finding solutions 
  • Strong technical, presentation and communication skills to enable effective customer training 
  • Someone who can persist and perform in ambiguous environments 
  • Organisational skills and focused self-starter 
  • Knowledge of property and marketing methods helpful
  • Advertising and online experience highly desirable
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Previous use of CRM systems, Salesforce would be highly advantageous
  • Looks at tricky situations through a solutions-focused lens
  • Work productively in a fast paced and agile environment
