ING Australia’s ODCR team is looking to hire an ODCR Senior Business Partner based at our Sydney office.

As the ODCR Senior Business Partner, you’ll play a key role in helping ING’s business teams across Retail, identify, assess, and manage non-financial risks. You’ll act as a trusted Line 1 risk advisor to senior leaders and executive committees, embedding a strong risk culture and ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations.

What you’ll do  

  • Contribute to uplift initiatives, ad-hoc projects, and group-wide working groups.
  • Act as the single point of contact for business teams, providing expert advice on operational, regulatory, and compliance risks
  • Lead the development and maintenance of business risk profiles and Risk in Change assessments
  • Support issue and incident management, and act as gatekeeper for the Product Approval and Review Process (PARP)
  • Partner with 2nd Line of Defence to streamline risk processes and remove blockers
  • Coordinate regulatory change impact assessments and responses to regulatory inquiries
  • Deliver training and awareness programs to uplift risk capability across the business
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of risk tools, processes, and reporting
  • Mentor junior team members and support team strategy and service delivery

What we’re looking for

  • Tertiary qualification in business, finance, legal, or a related discipline
  • 10+ years’ experience in financial services, with 8+ years in risk or compliance roles (preferably Line 1)
  • Strong understanding of retail banking products, operations, and regulatory frameworks (e.g. AML/KYC, Privacy, Banking Code of Practice)
  • Experience (in a product, operations or embedded risk management role) across
    Retail Mortgages, Consumer Lending (Credit Cards/ Personal Loans), Business
    Lending, Daily Banking or Wholesale Banking products
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholders and influence at senior levels
  • Strong analytical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in agile environments is a plus
  • Passion for simplification, innovation, and continuous improvement
