Challenger Limited is an ASX-listed investment management firm managing $131 billion in assets (as at 31 December 2024). Life with us is fast moving and always exciting. Together we’re driving to deliver our vision to provide our customers with financial security for a better retirement.
We achieve this goal by providing a work environment where people from diverse backgrounds, with a range of skills and experiences can contribute and succeed.
Operations Associate – Investment Product Operations (Permanent)This is a great entry point into investment management — offering exposure across the business and gaining a practical understanding of how investment products are operated and supported.
It’s a role with variety, impact, and room to grow — perfect for someone who wants more than just BAU.
Flexible hybrid work setup — typically 3 days in our Sydney CBD office (a stone’s throw from Martin Place Metro) and 2 days from home.
You’ll be part of the Investment Product Operations team — the link between internal teams, affiliate fund managers, BoardRoom, and our custodian, State Street. You'll help keep our investment products running seamlessly, from onboarding investors and managing daily fund activity to resolving issues and supporting governance.
Your customer focus will help you build strong rapport with internal stakeholders and external partners, making you a trusted point of contact and ensuring smooth, proactive communication.
This isn’t back-office work — BoardRoom handles that. Instead, you’ll be the operational connector between teams — making sure processes are tight, queries are resolved, and things move smoothly.
You’ll have close support from your manager and the broader team, but also the trust and freedom to step up, take the lead on your work, and make a real impact.
What you’ll be doingOperational Support – Be a key contact for queries from investors, advisers, and internal teams. Resolve issues with confidence and keep things on track.
Fund Operations – Assist with cashflow reporting, investor onboarding, new product setup, distributions, and day-to-day fund activity.
Stakeholder Engagement – Work closely with internal leaders and external partners to ensure smooth delivery and proactive communication.
Process & Governance – Help document procedures, identify and address recurring issues, and contribute to dashboards and oversight reports.
Fund Launches – Play an active role in onboarding new funds and improving operational processes in collaboration with product and business teams.
You likely have experience in registry, investment operations, platform services, or product administration — and you’re now ready for greater variety, broader stakeholder engagement, and real opportunities to grow.
You thrive in fast-moving environments with occasional ambiguity, taking pride in bringing clarity, structure, and follow-through. You ask the “why,” not just the “what,” and aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves to get things done.
You’re naturally curious, organised, and driven to understand how things work. You also:
Communicate clearly and professionally — in writing, email, and meetings
Confidently engage stakeholders at all levels, including senior leaders
Bring a genuine customer-focused approach and build strong rapport
Are comfortable working with external service providers or registries (ideal, but not essential)
Are detail-oriented and accountable, especially when handling data or processes
Are proficient with Excel and comfortable navigating multiple systems
Can juggle competing priorities, stay responsive, and keep work moving under pressure
Are adaptable and eager to learn, thriving in a fast-changing environment and seeking continuous improvement
You don’t need to be an investment expert — but you do care about quality, accuracy, and getting things right.
Why this role?Exposure to multiple teams, service providers, and senior stakeholders — no two days are the same
Real ownership from day one, with the support and trust to build your skills and your reputation
A chance to join at a time of growth — we’re evolving our platform, onboarding new funds, and expanding the services we offer to our affiliate managers
