As the Operations Engineer within the Remote AI Powered Operations Centre (ROC), you will set the strategic direction for centralised operations across all sites, ensuring that automation and remote operations are fully aligned with the organisation’s long-term business objectives. Translating complex operational needs into enterprise-wide business results, leveraging your deep expertise in data centre and asset operations, as well as enabling technologies.
Your Day to Day
- Serve as the principal operational authority within the ROC, shaping and communicating the operational vision to technology, automation, and business leadership teams.
- Lead cross-functional teams to design and implement innovative technology solutions that drive the evolution of the ROC platform, ensuring scalability, resilience, and future-readiness.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, using advanced analytics and stakeholder feedback to deliver measurable gains in reliability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee incident response and crisis management at a strategic level, ensuring that lessons learned are institutionalised and drive systemic process enhancements.
- Act as the primary liaison with stakeholders, providing insights on operational status, business impact, and strategic opportunities.
- Ensure enterprise-wide compliance with legal, ethical, and regulatory standards, and set the benchmark for best practices in data governance and operational integrity.
- Direct the development of comprehensive documentation, reporting frameworks, and executive dashboards to support data-driven decision-making at the highest levels.
- Identify and deliver on opportunities for process optimisation and cost transformation, partnering with local Operations Teams and the ROC to achieve sustainable business value.’
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related field; advanced qualifications preferred.
- 8+ years’ experience in data centre, asset operations, or similar industrial environments, with a proven track record in senior leadership roles.
- Demonstrated expertise in DC/asset operations, maintenance, and business process transformation.
- Extensive experience bridging operations and technology at a strategic level, translating business needs into enterprise-scale technical solutions.
- Advanced knowledge of incident response, change management, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills at all organisational levels.
- Deep understanding of AI, automation, and agile methodologies in critical environments.
- Commitment to operational excellence, integrity, and compliance at a strategic and organisational level.
