The opportunity

As an Operations Lead, you will lead a team of content creators, visual content designers, reviewers and production specialists to bring education to life for students and teachers across Australia and international markets. In this pivotal role, you'll own the people, the performance and the delivery of your team; turning our content roadmap into executable plans and making sure high-quality, curriculum-aligned courses land on time and to standard.

This is a role for a leader who is equally comfortable coaching people, solving delivery problems and using data to make sharp, informed decisions.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and inspire a team of content creators, designers, reviewers and production specialists.
  • Actively manage team performance against productivity and quality metrics, provide feedback and coaching, and conduct performance reviews to promote growth and development, handling performance concerns early and with care.
  • Recruit, onboard and train new team members, fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment.
  • Own the operational delivery of the content roadmap, translating strategy into detailed project plans with clear milestones, deliverables and priorities.
  • Proactively communicate delivery progress, blockers and risks to the Content Leadership team.
  • Lead resource planning and forecasting across your team, balancing workloads and matching skills to the right projects at the right time.
  • Utilise Google Sheets and project management tools (e.g. JIRA) to plan, track and manage your team's project workflow and deadlines and maintain our extensive project database.
  • Use data to track, forecast and analyse the planning and production of educational materials and to inform decisions on prioritisation and roadmap feasibility.
  • Own the integrity and hygiene of your team's operational data, ensuring the systems, trackers and metrics everyone relies on are accurate and trustworthy.
  • Uphold rigorous standards for content quality, ensuring output is delivered to brief, on time and in line with our editorial and brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate with fellow Content Leads to improve processes, share what's working and lift efficiency across the department.
  • Support the integration of AI across the content lifecycle, fostering a culture of curiosity, experimentation and responsible use.

What you’ll bring to Atomi

  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing a team: managing workload, setting goals, running team meetings and 1:1s, and giving constructive feedback that people can act on.
  • We're looking for someone who is accountable for their team's outcomes and performance, not just allocating work.
  • A track record of owning operational delivery; managing projects, plans, metrics and resources to achieve consistent, high-quality outcomes.
  • Resource planning and forecasting experience, with sound judgement when priorities shift, or resourcing is constrained.
  • Strong decision-making skills for managing conflicting priorities, and raising risks and constraints early to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Strong critical-thinking skills with the ability to think strategically and solve complex problems.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and confidence working through multi-step processes and systems accurately.
  • Proficient in Google Sheets or equivalent; comfortable manipulating data and drawing out trends to determine if projects can be delivered.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate team members, fostering a positive and productive environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across the business.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey direction and feedback.
  • Bonus points
  • Experience working in or alongside a content or editorial function.
  • You've experimented with AI in your own work and have a view on where it helps.
