The opportunity

We’re seeking a proactive Operations Lead to join QBE’s Property & Business Operations team within the Australia Pacific division. You’ll be the operational heartbeat behind our team by managing key operational processes, ensuring compliance, and driving efficiency. Managing the workplace systems and platforms, coordinating day‑to‑day performance, lifting user experience, and partnering with vendors and stakeholders to deliver reliable, people‑centred outcomes.

About QBE

At QBE, we get to the heart of what matters for our customers. And we do it all with a human touch.

We’re an international insurer with more than 13,000 people working across 26 countries – which means we’re big enough for your ambitions, yet small enough for you to make a real impact. It’s an exciting time. We’re building momentum towards our vision to become the most consistent and innovative risk partner.

What if you could have a positive impact – at work and in the world? As part of the QBE team, you’ll get to spend every day working with people who are passionate, talented and kind.

Your new role

As an Operations Lead, your responsibilities include:

  • Supplier Relationship Management: Oversee SRM processes for the team, including performance monitoring, service delivery oversight, and operational risk management.
  • Tender Support: Coordinate and support operational tender activities, ensuring accurate documentation, timelines, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Fleet & Travel Strategy: Contribute to the development and operational delivery of fleet and travel strategies, including process improvements and data support.
  • Workplace Systems Management: Manage day‑to‑day operational requirements for the workplace desk booking system and coordinate system implementations and upgrades, including leading UAT for all new or enhanced platforms.
  • Training & Documentation: Maintain and update training materials and end‑user guides for P&BO systems and deliver operational systems training to internal teams.
  • Operational Backup Support: Provide operational backup to other team members—such as assisting with invoice processing—and support the ongoing management of security systems, including Gallagher and CCTV, to ensure continuity of service and minimal operational disruption.

About you

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a blend of technical capability, operational know‑how, and strong interpersonal skills. This role isn’t just about managing systems—it’s about understanding how technology underpins people, processes, and performance. You’ll collaborate across diverse stakeholders, apply analytical thinking to real operational challenges, and bring a proactive mindset to continuous improvement. Curiosity, adaptability, and a commitment to high‑quality outcomes will set you apart.

You will have:

  • Solid experience in workplace or system administration, or broader business operations within a corporate environment. Backgrounds in executive assistance or operations are also highly regarded, especially where they demonstrate strong organisational oversight and process coordination.
  • Technical capability paired with a genuine willingness to learn new platforms and tools. Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills and the ability to produce clear, accurate documentation, guides, and process materials.
  • Confident in managing vendor relationships and engaging effectively with stakeholders at all levels—including executives—to support smooth collaboration and reliable service delivery.
  • Outstanding organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail, strong prioritisation abilities, and the capacity to operate under pressure while managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • A customer‑focused communication style that builds trust, supports positive interactions, and promotes effective collaboration across teams and business units.
