Elevate your career by joining our innovative Maintenance Repair and Overhaul & Upgrade (MRO & U) Services team as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Mechanical, where you'll play a vital role in supporting the P-8A Poseidon Program at RAAF Base Edinburgh, South Australia. This is not just a job; it's an opportunity to work on cutting-edge P-8A Avionics systems and associated equipment in a dynamic and engaging environment.
You don't need a background in Defence aviation to be successful! We encourage all members of the Aviation trades industry to apply. If you hold Fixed or Rotary Wing qualifications and have experience in General, Civil, or Defence Aviation, we would love to hear from you.
To thrive in this position, you should possess a Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics) and a knack for building strong relationships within your team. While a current B2 MAML is a plus, your previous experience with Fixed Wing Aircraft and completion of an P-8A Poseidon / Boeing 737 Aircraft Type course will set you apart.

What you need to know
  • Hight competitive sign on bonus
  • P-8A Retention payments yearly
  • Roster: 4-day weeks Monday to Thursday, overtime routinely available Friday & Saturday
  • P-8A Types course is available for the right candidate.
  • Travel opportunities with paid per-diems (QLD, New Zealand & USA).
  • Parking and canteen facilities available onsite.
  • Relocation assistance available for the right applicant.

The skills needed for success include:
  • Proficiency in aircraft handling and servicing.
  • Expertise in avionics and component servicing.
  • Understanding of Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) compliance and documentation certification.
  • Skills in component removal, installation, disassembly, and reassembly.
  • Commitment to a safe work environment and adherence to Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) regulations.
  • Ability to use and maintain aircraft support equipment effectively.
  • Competence in fault diagnosis in line and base maintenance.
  • Previous experience with fixed wing, 737 derivative aircraft is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with co-workers.

Necessary requirements
  • Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical)
  • Current B2 MAML or the ability to obtain (desirable).
  • C class driver's license.

Security Clearance
You will be required to successfully undergo the vetting process for a government security clearance (Negative Vetting 1) sponsored by BDA. Therefore, you must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information and must have the ability to verify your background for whole of life i.e. birth to present time.
