About the role

The Partner Marketing Manager works with partners to consult on their marketing strategies and tactics and to develop effective campaigns that deliver ROI.


A great Partner Marketing Manager needs to have a very strong understanding of what is happening in the marketplace and what influences buying decisions. You will keep on top of market trends and proactively manage vendor brand messaging, so it meets the consumer head-on. You will need to be analytical in your thinking to track ROI and ensure constant review to ensure that partner campaigns deliver. Planning, directing and adjusting multiple campaigns calls for an ability to focus on details.


The Partner Marketing Manager works on behalf of clients to support their network of IT partners by providing valuable, ground-level insights into partner capabilities, readiness, and performance metrics derived from planned marketing activities. This is a dynamic role closely tied to the cloud and IT industry, focused on driving measurable partners and business success.


This role will support Partners across the Japan region. You will need to support end‑to‑end field and marketing activities planning, focusing on partner management, campaign execution, and event delivery. To drive strategic and operational initiatives aligned to business priorities, including reporting, partner enablement, and cross‑regional coordination. You will be providing advice and support on marketing tactics and strategies, so you will need to have a good understanding of marketing tactics. Acting as a central liaison throughout projects, you will also need to be a strong communicator - relationship management skills are crucial in this role.


What you'll do

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with partners, distributors, agencies, and internal teams, serving as the key bridge between partners, vendor stakeholders, and PMM/VPMM teams.
  • Manage ongoing partner relationships on a daily basis, ensuring partners are informed, enabled, and actively driving initiatives that support and grow client revenue.
  • Collaborate closely with partner and local sales and marketing teams to understand solution priorities, curate and adapt client-provided materials, and drive effective partner enablement and training initiatives.
  • Develop clear and effective marketing briefs for presentations, partner enablement, and training sessions.
  • Plan, manage, and support the execution of partner marketing plans and campaigns, including webinars and workshops, ensuring content alignment and smooth platform setup.
  • Oversee partner events and campaign execution with end-to-end ownership, covering planning, logistics, coordination, and reporting.
  • Monitor marketing campaign execution, leads, and ROI, maintaining accountability across the end-to-end lead management process.
  • Proactively identify and resolve client or partner issues, escalating to the Program Manager or Director when required.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3-4 years’ work experience in Japan market in a Business to Business IT environment
  • Experience in Account Management, Field Marketing, Partner Marketing, or B2B Event Marketing.
  • Demonstrated success in B2B event management and partner-facing campaign execution.
  • Excellent client liaison skills, ability to react and respond in a timely and effective manner
  • The ability to develop relationships and become a trusted advisor
  • Business level English both written and spoken, with the ability to adapt communication style to fit the audience
  • Attention to details and meticulous in processes adhering to the project's requirements
  • Proactive in learning new IT platforms and knowledge required
  • Previous experience of working in a Marketing role; planning and developing full strategic marketing campaigns, including budget management and allocation
  • Strong ownership, adaptability, and ability to manage both strategic and hands‑on tasks.
  • Good knowledge of online (e.g. email marketing, SEO, SEA, social networks, display advertising, content syndication, video production) and offline Marketing campaign types (e.g. events, telemarketing, print advertising, sponsoring, incentives)
  • Strong MS PowerPoint, Excel and Word skills with the ability to present information
  • Additional Asian language would be an advantage (Japanese/Korean/Mandarin/Hindi)
  • Willingness to learn and contribute ideas
