About the role

Join a high-performing team within the Bank’s Operations division, responsible for supporting core banking payment processes with a focus on Direct Entry and New Payments Platform (NPP) transactions. Reporting to the Assistant Manager, you’ll work closely with internal stakeholders, IT teams, and external partners to ensure the smooth execution of payment operations. This role sits at the heart of the Bank’s payment infrastructure, contributing to innovation, compliance, and operational excellence.

As a Payment Operations Analyst, you will:

  • Investigate and resolve Direct Entry and NPP payment discrepancies with precision.

  • Support SFTP setup and payment file testing between customers and IT.

  • Monitor and process daily payment files, transactions, and collections.

  • Provide first and second-level support for business systems and customer enquiries.

  • Assist with system change testing, upgrades, and contingency planning.

  • Ensure compliance with AusPayNet, NPPA/Osko regulations, and internal risk policies.

  • Reconcile suspense and clearing accounts daily and manage returned items.

  • Provide weekend on-call support as required.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Strong knowledge of payment systems, particularly Direct Entry and NPP.

  • Experience in banking operations and technical troubleshooting.

  • Advanced Excel skills and data analysis capabilities.

  • Familiarity with fraud detection and regulatory compliance.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to work independently.

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
