About the job

We shine a light on all things property. Our business aims to simplify the property journey for all involved; motivated by expertise and our exclusive data. Changing the way people engage with property requires a team of diverse thinkers.

We’re looking for a Payroll Manager who’s ready to do more than just run payroll. This is a chance to take the reins and own our multi-country function across Australia, New Zealand (and more), leading a talented team and making sure every pay run is spot-on, compliant, and seamless.

But here’s the real opportunity: you won’t just manage payroll, you’ll shape it. From building stronger processes and driving automation to partnering with HR, Finance, and external providers – you’ll create a payroll function that’s efficient, future-ready, and a trusted part of the employee experience.

If you’re a payroll leader who thrives on accuracy, loves solving problems, and gets a kick out of helping teams perform at their best, this role puts you right at the centre of it all.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing payroll team.
  • Oversee accurate, compliant payroll across multiple countries.
  • Ensure payroll tax, superannuation, and Fair Work obligations are watertight.
  • Streamline and automate processes to improve efficiency.
  • Act as the go-to expert for payroll queries, compliance, and audits.
  • Build strong relationships with HR, Finance, Technology, and vendors.
  • Identify and deliver continuous improvements to enhance service delivery.

What you’ll bring

  • Significant payroll operations experience, including 1-2+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven success managing payroll across multiple jurisdictions (Australia and NZ essential).
  • Strong grasp of legislation, Awards, PAYG, superannuation, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills – confident, clear, and influential.
  • A leadership style that develops and motivates people.
  • Ability and drive to work at pace and lead change
  • A mindset for improvement – someone who thrives on making systems and processes better.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience with HRIS and payroll systems such as Workday or TMF.
  • Previous involvement in payroll projects, system implementations, or major upgrades.
  • Experience managing outsourced/co-sourced payroll provider relationships.
