Job DescriptionJoin Australia’s leading life insurer as a Payroll Services Specialist. Reporting to the Payroll Services & Compliance Manager, you will join a close-knit team who are part of our broader People and Culture business unit. The primary purpose of the role is to is to ensure excellence by providing solutions, resolving complex issues, and managing payroll activities accurately and on time for TAL.
We’re looking for someone who is experienced with Dayforce, enjoys working as part of a team and has strong customer service skills.
This is a 6-month fixed term contract, working flexibly from our Sydney office.
In this role you will:
- Assist with the end-to-end processing and maintenance of the fortnightly payroll and ensure all data is accurate and paid in a timely manner
- Process, calculate and manage payroll adjustments, new starter administration, terminations, leave reconciliations, Workday inbox transactions (HRIS), parental leave payments, and one-off (bonus/commission/ referral) payments
- Ensure all payroll processing calculations and payment are in accordance with relevant legislation and Awards and Enterprise Agreement interpretation
- Provide guidance and support for award and Enterprise Agreement interpretation within P&C and the wider business
- Identify new and better ways to improve and simplify payroll processing, including but not limited to, providing suggestions around potential process steps that can be done differently or automated
- Contribute to putting in place processes and documentation to help manage and reduce any operational risks in relation to processing pay
- Extensive payroll experience in a medium to large company, with proficiency in using Dayforce
- Exceptional customer service skills and service-oriented approach with an energetic and positive mindset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience interpreting multiple Awards and Enterprise Agreements
- Well-organised, deadline-focused, effective time management, and capable of handling multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of Australian payroll legislation including taxation, superannuation, terms, and leave
- Strong computer literacy skills particularly Excel
