Build your career and Australia’s future.
Not many people can say they are working on building Australia’s future. With us you’ll be doing just that, leaving a legacy for all Australians. Plus, there’s equal employment, great training, and true flexible working arrangements.
We have an exciting opportunity at nbn for a People Central Advisor, reporting to the Senior Manager People Central.
A bit about your role
As the People Central Advisor, you will provide up-to-date advice, support and guidance to all nbn employees across a broad range of HR matters in line with nbn’s policies and processes. To achieve this, you will be the first point of contact for employees and other workers to provide information on People & Culture policy, process and procedures where they have been unable to self-serve. Also, you will take on the role of coaching and educating employees and other workers on how to find information themselves through Workday or the Hub and act as an SME on particular areas, which includes educating and being a point of escalation for the team in relation to complex questions.
You will look for thoughtful ways to streamline how we work and champion digital capability across the team, embracing AI and automation to reduce manual effort, improve data accuracy and deliver a more caring, seamless employee experience. You will maintain prompt and precise HRIS (Workday) updates to uphold integrity and compliance, and you will collaborate with Workforce Transformation, People & Culture Partners, Leader Support, Payroll and Rewards to deliver holistic solutions that bring people and process together.
A bit about you
If this sounds like you, you will bring experience working in human resources and/or a relevant HR qualification, together with a strong foundation in customer service. You understand the employee lifecycle and Fair Work legislation, and your meticulous attention to detail ensures data and documentation are accurate and reliable.
You communicate with warmth and clarity, balance competing priorities with calm focus, and deliver consistently against service level agreements. You are curious and technically minded, with experience in Workday highly regarded, and you enjoy learning new tools and embracing automation to create simpler, smarter ways of working.
You thrive in collaborative environments, listen deeply, and bring a purposeful, solutions‑oriented mindset that helps our people feel supported, respected and empowered.
