Job Description

We have a new and exciting opportunity for a professional and dedicated People and Culture Advisor to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract at Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team committed to excellence in People and Culture, supporting a stunning property in the heart of the Hunter Valley.

This role will provide exceptional Human Resources support, guidance, and expert counsel specifically to Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort and Elysia Wellness Retreat, reporting directly to the Head of People. You’ll collaborate with both the onsite property team and the broader People and Culture team to deliver seamless HR support across both properties. 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide confident, practical HR support for local employee matters, including offering guidance to leaders and representing the property at the Fair Work Commission when required.
  • Partner with managers to build capability in performance management, supporting goal setting, coaching conversations, and the fair and consistent application of company processes.
  • Oversee key employment lifecycle processes, including onboarding, police check compliance and casual offboarding, ensuring each step is delivered consistently and in line with legislative and company requirements.
  • Coordinate incident reporting and follow-up actions, ensuring clear documentation and constructive outcomes that enhance workplace practices.
  • Lead Return-to-Work (RTW) and rehabilitation processes, helping employees safely re-engage with their roles and fostering a supportive transition.
  • Provide advice to managers on risk assessments and workplace safety matters, contributing to a safe and engaged working environment.
  • Manage training requests and coordinate onboarding activities to ensure new team members have an engaging and seamless introduction to the business.
  • Assist with workforce planning initiatives, including preparing business cases for new positions, changes to structure, and future capability needs.
  • Work closely with department heads and senior leaders throughout recruitment processes, supporting interviews, selection, and the delivery of a strong candidate experience.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management or related field, with at least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated WHS experience and skills, including safety reporting, compensation administration, and return-to-work programs
  • High-level written and oral communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively at all levels
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, and organisational skills, able to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Resilience and adaptability in the face of change, remaining calm under pressure
  • Availability to work full-time, Monday – Friday
