Job Description

The People & Culture Risk and Governance team supports the continuous building of awareness and the strengthening of the risk management and governance practices across the People & Culture business unit. The team consists of operational risk management (Line 1 Risk), governance including regulatory amendments, strategic program management, board and executive team reporting and analytics & insights.

The People & Culture Risk Manager plays a critical role in the identification, management and mitigation of risk within People & Culture. The role includes a broad range of activities including control testing, leading the annual RCSA process, risk management through business unit change and reporting to the People & Culture Risk Committee. Additionally, the Risk Manager will oversee incident management and manage the CPS230 uplift program of work for People & Culture.

The role also provides advice and guidance to the business, promoting a strong risk culture, and supporting stakeholders to ensure successful operations within organisational risk & compliance frameworks.

The role works across the People & Culture team and closely with the People & Culture Leadership Team on risk and compliance related matters. This role also liaises with the Risk Office and Internal Audit across various Line 2 and Line 3 activities.

In addition, in this role you will:

  • Provide education and awareness of risk management and compliance across the People & Culture team (including running bi-annual new starter risk training).
  • Develop and implement a People & Culture control testing plan aligned to the organisational framework, including conducting thorough critical control testing and reporting on outcomes to the People & Culture Leadership Team and Line 2.
  • Oversee annual BCP review for P&C and participate in testing scenarios.
  • Represent People & Culture at the Line 1 Risk forum, Operational Excellence Change Advocates forum and other Line 1 Risk enterprise-wide forums.
  • Support Line 2 and Line 3 with relevant reviews/audits.
  • Provide risk support and advice for People & Culture strategic priorities and projects, including risk in change.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a Risk Management role within financial services, ideally within a People & Culture team
  • Sound understanding of and ability to operate within Risk and Compliance frameworks, including the ability to consider risk strategically
  • Demonstrated leadership, influencing and collaboration skills, a proven track record in writing effective reports and presentations
  • Ability to manage and deliver through ambiguity
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong ethical standards and integrity
  • Ability to analyse data and collate reports in relation to risk profiles, regulatory requirements, uplift plans, incidents and audits
  • Significant experience managing and building effective relationships at all levels
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities – across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities
