The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a driven and strategic professional to join a newly created team as a Performance & Market Pricing Manager. This team plays a critical role in managing and optimising performance across the SME and Elders portfolios—spanning a diverse set of general insurance products including Business Pack, Farm, Commercial Motor, Home, and Private Motor.  This team is focused on market pricing and performance and is a part of the Business BU.

As part of this foundational team, you’ll help shape the strategy, build performance frameworks, and develop market pricing that align with business objectives and deliver sustainable growth, working with the Business BU, as well as the Pricing and Chief Underwriting Office (CUO) teams.

Your new role

In this role, you will sit at the intersection of data, strategy, and execution. Your core focus will be to drive performance and market pricing strategy across our SME and Elders product lines.

  • Lead performance monitoring and optimisation across portfolio metrics (e.g. exposure, claim trends, portfolio mix).
  • Set strategic portfolio targets and develop reporting tools to support decision-making.
  • Translate technical pricing from CUO/Pricing teams into effective go-to-market rates.
  • Manage pricing updates in line with market conditions and business goals.
  • Support financial planning, management reporting, and opportunity assessments.
  • Contribute to transformation initiatives and modernisation of performance frameworks.
  • Collaborate across underwriting, pricing, distribution, and finance teams.
  • Develop the product portfolio management suite, tools and processes.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Strong experience in general insurance portfolio management
  • Strong commercial and analytical skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with pricing, underwriting, reserving, and other teams.
  • Proficient in SQL, Python, Power BI, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Hands-on and collaborative, with the ability to influence through insights.
  • Comfortable building tools, dashboards, and frameworks from scratch.
  • Degree qualified in a quantitative field (e.g. Actuarial Science, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics) is preferred.
