Job Description

The Performance Test Lead will be responsible for leading the end-to-end performance testing strategy, planning, execution, and reporting for enterprise applications. This role requires a hands-on technical expert who can design and execute performance tests while providing leadership and guidance to a team of performance testers and engineers. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, experience in performance tuning, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure systems meet performance, scalability, and reliability goals.

The Performance Test Lead leads the design and execution of performance testing strategies to ensure applications meet scalability, stability, and responsiveness goals. The role involves developing and executing load, stress, and endurance tests, analyzing results to pinpoint bottlenecks, and driving performance optimization across application and infrastructure layers. The Lead oversees and mentors a team of performance testers, manages workloads, ensures quality outcomes, and collaborates closely with development and architecture teams. Additionally, the role delivers detailed reports, communicates insights to stakeholders, and champions continuous improvement by integrating performance testing into CI/CD pipelines and adopting modern tools and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of software engineering and performance testing concepts and methodologies.
  • Strong leadership experience managing a team of performance testers
  • Proficiency in using performance testing tools such as NeoLoad, JMeter, LoadRunner
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, or others used for scripting performance tests.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret performance test results and identify performance bottlenecks.
  • Familiarity with system monitoring and profiling tools.
  • Good communication skills to collaborate with development and operations teams.
  • Understanding of web technologies, databases, and network protocols.
  • Experience with performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and virtualization technologies.
  • Knowledge of agile practices and relevant tools like JIRA, Confluence, Git, and Bitbucket for effective collaboration and tracking of performance testing tasks and results.
