About the Team
This role is part of the Payments Settlements department, Business Services Group. Business Services Group is responsible for the provision of banking and payments services to Australian Government agencies, the provision of payment settlement services to Australian financial system participants through the Reserve Bank Information and Transfer System (RITS) and the Fast Settlement Service (FSS), the conduct of Exchange Settlement Accounts and the production and issuance of Australian banknotes.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced Performance Test Lead for Technical Assurance team within the Payments Settlements department, Business Services Group. This is a one-year, fixed-term engagement.
Key Objectives
• Experience and expertise in strategizing and implementing shift-left or early component performance testing approach.
• Lead performance test planning, execution, and analysis activities to enable early performance testing capabilities for the department.
• Drive the non-functional requirements gathering discussions and arrive at component level SLA/metrics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify performance requirements and performance-critical areas of the application.
• Develop and maintain performance test framework, test suite, and also ensure environment conflicts are minimised through pro-active management.
• Implement proactive problem management strategies to identify and address potential performance issues early in the development lifecycle.
• Monitor and analyse system performance metrics to identify bottlenecks and areas of optimisation.
• Coordinate performance and contingency testing for each agreed projects to ensure that technical requirements are met for the scope of applications under test.
• Support planning and execution of testing activities of systems in the Payment Settlements (PS) department aimed at minimising risk while achieving high levels of quality, in the most pragmatic manner.
• Work with the team to drive quality improvements particularly in the testing space, to ensure a consistent approach to testing and to foster a quality mindset.
• Ensure consistent application of testing standards, practices, and processes, whilst aiming for continuous improvement to achieve value-based practices.
Your Background
• Proven experience and expertise in the area of performance testing.
• Extensive experience in the planning and managing shift-left delivery for mission critical systems.
• Proficiency with performance testing tools and monitoring tools such as Gatling, JMeter, Kibana, AppDynamics and/or similar tools.
• Strong knowledge in JAVA and object-oriented programming concepts
• Working experience in banking or finance industry is preferred.
• Knowledge of payments and settlements systems is also desirable.
