Your Role   

As a part of our growth strategy, we are seeking a Network Engineer to join our Infrastructure Services team on our journey to Platform Engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our global network infrastructure, including routing and switching, virtual private networks (VPNs), firewalls, and intrusion detection systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new technologies and services.   

 

To achieve this, your role will require you to:  

  • Design, implement, and maintain complex network architectures, including routing and switching, VPNs, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.  

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues using advanced tools and techniques.  

  • Collaborate with other teams to integrate new technologies and services into the existing infrastructure.  

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for network architectures and configurations.  

  • Participate in IT projects and initiatives to improve network performance, reliability, and security.  

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve network designs and operations.  

  • Be available for after hours on-call (rotation basis) and travelling to data centre locations (on call allowance is paid) 

  

Your Skills and Experiences   

Essential:  

  • Experience in network engineering 

  • In-depth knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), switching technologies (VLANs, trunking), and network architectures (SDN, NFV). 

  • Strong understanding of security principles and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSL/TLS, PKI). 

  • Familiarity with network management tools (NMS, NCM, SolarWinds) and scripting languages (Python, PowerShell). 

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure. 

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in a team environment. 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. 

 

Desirable:  

  • Certifications in network engineering (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE), security (CompTIA Security+, CISSP), or cloud computing (AWS Certified SysOps Administrator). 

  • Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Puppet). 

  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and IT service management frameworks (ITIL). 

  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as a Code (IaaC) concepts and tools, such as AWS CloudFormation or Azure Resource Manager
