The Hosting Platform team supports the underlying infrastructure platform technologies that host critical ASX external and internal applications and services. The Hosting Platform team members are multiskilled and certified across enterprise level Virtualisation, Storage, Backup & Recovery, Containerization and Public Cloud technologies to ensure stability, scalability, performance, capacity, resilience and efficiency are maintained in our shared infrastructure platforms.
Your responsibilities
Provide technical support including installation, configuration, maintenance, security and compliance of ASX's Enterprise Backup environment that supports recovery of public cloud and on-premise data and infrastructure.
Implementation and support of ASX’s Enterprise Backup environment and its integrations to external and internal cloud environments.
Technical development. Environmental review.
Upkeep of deployment pipelines and infrastructure operational improvements.
Operational Acceptance and input into Backup and Recovery Design and Architecture.
Operational system availability targets are met or exceeded. Backup success rates are upheld and maintained.
Be aware of change and risk management disciplines and adhere to this process for all system changes.
Attend Mission Critical Support (MCS) and operational rosters. All team members to attend office (39 Martin Place) 3 days a week to ensure knowledge transfer and escalation of incidents effectively
Your Experience & Qualifications
Must have
Strong hands-on experience administering Cohesity/Veritas NetBackup in an enterprise environment. (policies, schedules, retention, encryption, media management).
Extensive experience to perform and validate restores using NetBackup (file/VM/application), including troubleshooting failed jobs and recovery during incidents.
Experience implementing and operating DR and resilience controls (replication, recovery testing, ransomware recovery readiness) aligned to NetBackup features and enterprise standards.
Working knowledge of NetBackup integrations for virtual and application workloads (e.g., VMware, databases) and backup patterns for cloud workloads where applicable.
Experience designing, implementing and maintaining on-prem Enterprise Backup platforms (capacity, performance, patching, upgrades, lifecycle).
Troubleshooting skills across compute, storage and network layers for internal and cloud platforms.
Experience supporting infrastructure platforms for application delivery teams (incidents, changes, problem management).
Solid scripting/automation capability (Bash, PowerShell, Python or Go). Experience operating NetBackup at scale, including monitoring/reporting (e.g., IT Analytics), capacity planning, compliance evidence.
Hands-on experience administering VMware in an enterprise environment Routing, switching and firewalling experience; solid TCP/IP fundamentals including load balancing and proxies.
Nice to have
Experience with Linux administration.
Experience with backup for containers/Kubernetes and modern application data protection patterns.
AWS certification (or equivalent) and/or multi-cloud exposure (e.g., Google Cloud certification).
Good understanding of cloud networking concepts (routing, security groups/NACLs, load balancing, DNS).
Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) experience.
Kubernetes certification (CKA) and/or cloud native policy management (e.g., Kyverno).
Observability tooling experience (OpenTelemetry, Grafana dashboarding, Prometheus implementation).
Strong foundation in public cloud platforms and ecosystems (identity, networking, monitoring/observability, automation).
Infrastructure as Code / GitOps experience (e.g., Terraform, Helm, GitLab CI/CD pipelines).
Experience integrating operational controls into delivery pipelines (build/deploy, policy-as-code, monitoring hooks).
