Security Requirements: Citizens and Residents current residing in Australia only.

Full Time, Permanent Position.

Our Why

Datacom works with organisations and communities across Australia and New Zealand to make a difference in people’s lives and help organisations use the power of tech to innovate and grow.

About the Role (Your Why)

As a Senior Cloud Consultant, you will be heavily involved in pre-sales supporting our sales function and be responsible for driving new business and revenue generation, with a primary focus on AWS cloud solutions. This role supports customers in identifying and implementing the best-fit cloud products, solutions and services to meet their evolving business and technical needs. You will be a trusted advisor for our customers, helping organisations understand the business value of AWS and how Datacom can lead them through the change. You'll play a key role in designing and advocating for cloud strategies, setting the direction and plans for sales activities, and ensuring the successful execution of these plans to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient cloud solutions. Ultimately, you will need to be able to 'get out there' and build relationships in tandem with a Business Development Manager as part of the presales but also have the technical nous to be able to articulate the tech, understand it, and help deliver the business outcomes by assisting the architects to implement it.

Our offices are based in Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne. We like to bring people together in person when we can, but we recognise the benefits of working from home to support work/life balance. You and your team will decide how to work together most effectively.

Please note, this is a full-time, permanent role, and you must be an Australian citizen or resident and living in Australia to be eligible.

What You’ll Bring

You’ll have extensive IT industry experience with a strong consulting background and deep AWS knowledge, combined with the commercial acumen needed to drive presales success. You’ll be comfortable engaging with C-level decision-makers, translating technical possibilities into business value, and influencing purchasing decisions

Required experience:

  • Key vendor product knowledge across AWS cloud solutions
  • Proven knowledge and experience with automation languages, practices and toolsets
  • Orchestration expertise in provisioning, private and public cloud, preferably with experience in AWS automation
  • Proven industry experience, preferably within a large managed services or outsourcing environment
  • Ability to deal with customers at all levels and translate customer needs into a complete solution
  • Analytical, diagnostic, project management and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to tailor presentations according to the needs and varying levels of understanding of different audiences
  • A strong customer service focus, with an ability to build and maintain lasting customer partnerships
  • Strong ability to produce compelling proposals, solution designs, and architecture documentation
