Role purpose

The Pricing Analyst plays a crucial role at Travelex by ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our pricing strategies across the ANZ and Asia regions. This position is pivotal in driving profitability and competitiveness through meticulous rate setting, margin management, and rate distribution.

As a Pricing Analyst, you will:

  • Lead Pricing Initiatives: Take charge of managing and maintaining dynamic pricing processes, ensuring maximum uptime and accuracy.
  • Collaborate Globally: Work closely with Global Pricing Team and other key stakeholders across APAC, MET & EMEA region to optimize pricing strategies.
  • Drive Business Success: Prepare and present insightful pricing analyses and strategies that directly impact the company’s short-term and long-term profitability.
  • Enhance Operational Efficiency: Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by leveraging modern tools in data analytics, ensuring operational processes are always evolving and improving.

Key accountabilities

Manage and maintain rate setting, margin management and rate distribution

  • Rate Management: Manage and maintain rate setting, margin management, and rate distribution.
  • Margin Updates: Ensure all margins are updated and correct as advised by the Head of Pricing & Commercial Operations across ANZ and Asia.
  • Dynamic Pricing: Ensure maximum uptime for Dynamic Pricing Processes during APAC working hours and collaborate with the Mumbai Pricing Team.
  • Issue Resolution: Triage pricing automation and rate delivery issues, coordinating with ITSD for timely resolution.
  • Analysis and Presentation: Prepare and present pricing analysis for promotions, rate profile changes, and commission structures.
  • Strategy Development: Assist in preparing and presenting pricing strategies to improve short-term and long-term profitability.
  • Rate Sheet Management: Ensure rate sheets are saved and emailed immediately after rate calculations as per the agreed schedule.
  • Maintenance: Complete all maintenance tasks in a timely manner and Collaborate with IT teams to get faster resolutions
  • Data Support: Undertake data extraction, manipulation, and provide analytical support as outlined by the Head of Pricing.

Analytical, Reporting and control

  • Strategy Implementation: Assist in implementing, monitoring, and maintaining all Foreign Currency pricing activities.
  • Performance Review: Conduct analytical reviews of margin management and performance against targets.
  • Reporting: Perform regular reporting on rates, margins, and discounts.
  • Historic Data Management: Maintain historic rate tables and archives.
  • Communication: Maintain close working relationships with Wholesale Banknote dealers and other key stakeholders.

Role specific experience and skills

Essential

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel knowledge.
  • Proficiency in running Python scripts and/or Jupyter notebooks.
  • Ability to debug and write medium complexity SQL queries.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • 1+ years of experience in a pricing or data analyst role.

Desirable

  • Experience with RTS, Foxweb, or Salt. (Travelex Internal Systems)
  • Understanding of financial markets and their impact on customer demand.
  • Experience in a customer and sales-focused multinational organization.
  • Knowledge of AWS services like Lambda, Athena, Glue, and Quick Sight.
