Principal Cloud-Native Software Engineer

About the RoleAnalog Devices Inc. is seeking a Principal Cloud-Native Software Engineer with exceptional AWS expertise and a proven record of leading technical teams to deliver large-scale, high-performance cloud solutions. This is a hands-on leadership role—you will guide a small team of cloud software engineers while actively contributing to architecture, design, and implementation.
You will define and champion best-in-class architecture, coding principles, and conventions, ensuring the team delivers secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions. Your influence will extend across projects, shaping Analog Devices’ cloud platform and setting the technical direction for our customer-facing services and applications.
- Lead and mentor a small team of cloud software engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
- Define, document, and enforce architectural principles, coding conventions, and implementation best practices.
- Set the technical vision for Analog Devices’ cloud software stack, enabling world-class PaaS and SaaS solutions.
- Evaluate emerging cloud technologies, making informed build-vs-buy recommendations.
- Actively contribute production-grade code alongside your team.
- Design and implement high-availability, high-performance backend services.
- Develop frameworks, APIs, and infrastructure that accelerate delivery across multiple projects.
- Partner with product, hardware, and security teams to align architecture with business needs.
- Drive cross-team architectural discussions and ensure consistent design patterns.
- Represent engineering best practices in technical reviews, architecture boards, and strategy sessions.
- 10+ years professional software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership role.
- Proven track record architecting and delivering large-scale, cloud-native solutions in AWS.
- Deep experience with one or more of: Node.js, TypeScript, Python, Go, C#, or JavaScript.
- Expertise in designing for scalability, reliability, and security.
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- In-depth knowledge of AWS services (serverless, compute, storage, networking).
- Advanced proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment strategies.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) expertise with SST, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation.
- Skilled in troubleshooting complex distributed systems and optimizing performance.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (or equivalent).
- Experience leading architecture for multi-region, mission-critical cloud platforms.
- Proficiency in AWS Serverless services (DynamoDB, Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, EventBridge).
- Containerization experience (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration practices.
