Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Principal Engineer / Senior Project Manager with extensive flooding experience to join our growing team in Melbourne.

The role is to effectively manage 2-5 large flood mapping projects, in various stages of progression (total fees more than $1M). Success in this role will require a senior PM who can develop rapport with our clients to manage scope and project health while forecasting the projects to benefit resource planning. Technical (flood mapping) domain knowledge is important. A curious growth mindset is welcomed alongside excellent values to keep the team engaged with delivery.

Some of the duties include:

  • Manage, train and mentor team members by providing formal coaching to improve the capability and achievement of objectives.
  • Effectively manage project team and coordinate resources for the efficient delivery of projects
  • Plan and manage large scale flood mapping projects overseeing a broad team of professionals.
  • Manage project financials, technical delivery and contractual obligations.
  • Direct internal and external stakeholder meetings ensuring project objectives are being met.
  • Complete commercial and legal reviews in accordance with Delegation of Authorities Guideline to identify risks and opportunities associated with project delivery, project bids and project variations

Qualifications

Key Attitudes and Qualifications:

  • 10+ years professional experience.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or the equivalent in years of engineering and/or project delivery experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing ability.
  • Genuine care for customer and team, together with taking pride in work enabled by strong professional services skills.
  • Proven project management skills (achieving prescribed budget, timeframe and customer requirements).
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills.
