Position Overview
The Marketing Community Engineering team is looking for a Principal Engineer, Full Stack to join a team whose efforts are part of the community products of the company. Your focus will be on delivering feature-rich front-end web experiences and backend API services to support this experience for our customers, providing new ways for them to interface with Autodesk reliably and at scale. You will help lead the full-stack development of our support portal, leveraging React, Node.js, Docker, Jenkins, Linux, Git, AWS (Amazon Web Services), SQL and other innovative web and DevOps technologies. This requires understanding complex business requirements, back-office systems, and user experience flows, all while delivering a forward-thinking, feature-rich support platform that will have a direct impact on our customers. You will be in a dynamic environment with other motivated, talented individuals who inspire greatness in their teammates.
Responsibilities
• This role will appeal to you if you love coding and thinking through design patterns, engineering models & frameworks
• Knowledge of one or more areas of distributed systems and enterprise web delivery platform
• Work with team to troubleshoot code level problems quickly and efficiently
• Design, code, test, debug, and document new and existing functional components to ensure that software meets business, quality, and operational needs
• Prior work experience in Solution engineering, performing code reviews, and participating in design discussions about architecture, data shape, and business logic
• Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes to ensure the highest quality and performance are achieved.
• Building APIs using Node or Koa, Listeners and Worker services using Node, a plus
• Familiarity with Docker or Kubernetes, a plus
• Prior working experience with Agile software development
• Good knowledge of data migration, CICD pipeline, Git, Bitbucket, Jira and Agile methodologies
• Excellent communication skills, ability to partner with product and design, and collaborate on multi-functional teams
• Experience in SQL (preferably MySQL) and NoSQL is a plus
• Proficient verbal and written English communication skills
• You have shown you are a strong collaborator, a trusted teammate, and are skilled at resolving and working through different ideas
Minimum Qualifications
• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
• 8+ years hands-on full-stack experience developing scalable, customer facing front-end web/ UI experience, backend API services and software applications
• 6+ years’ experience with JavaScript, PHP, and LAMP stacks
• 4+ years of experience working with React, Node or similar web frameworks
• Building software with NodeJS, TypeScript, React, JavaScript/ ES6, CSS, JSON, XML, etc.
• Experience integrating, designing, and building REST APIs, web services
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and writing build scripts
• Experience with continuous integration tools, such as Jenkins
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (i.e., EC2, S3, IAM, RDS, CloudFront, CloudWatch, Lambda, CloudFormation, and others) or similar cloud infrastructure
• Familiarity with responsive web design
