You will be part of a team contributing to our core customer systems, financial crime and other key functions of the domain.
As a Principal Platform Engineer, you’ll be an integral senior member of our central Engineering team, that will help other engineers to enjoy our platforms in CBA.  You will provide core technology and domain expertise to inform technical strategy and be responsible for the design of solutions for complex challenges within a business unit. You’ll have a strong risk mindset and take security from the first line of code approach. You will guide those around you to invest in their own engineering craft and mentor them to build world class applications.

We’re interested in hearing from people who: 

• As a matured Big Thinker, you’ll work closely with senior leaders on the strategic development practice

• Have expert experience in AWS Cloud, building SDKs for easy consumption, developer experience, lead the design, development, and implementation delivery using Agile practices with specific focus on the following: Building tools in JAVA

• Excellent problem-solving skills. You will be required to analyse technical issues involving multiple system components with complex relationships

• Excellent communication, influencing and collaboration skills to ensure you can effectively share ideas and solutions with your team

• Natural mentorship ability to support and grow your peers

Skills Required:
This is a highly technical role, requiring a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. You’ll be a good match if you have previous experience in:

• Expert level experience with AWS Cloud

• Proficient level experience in building SDK’s. You will be language agnostic but you will be familiar with any of the following: Frontend: React, Angular; Backend: Java; Database: Experience SQL and NoSQL experience (both admin and usage)

• Solid CI/CD tooling (Git, TeamCity, Artifactory, Octopus, Jenkins, ArgoCD, etc.) or equivalent

• Infrastructure as a Code

• Extensive knowledge and experience in application development and design
