Hume City Council, on behalf of the established partnership between City of Whittlesea, Mitchell Shire, Hume City Council, Stockland and Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation, is seeking an experienced Principal Project Manager (PPM) to coordinate the delivery of the Federally funded Urban Precincts and Partnerships Program (UPPP).

What you’ll be doing:

  • The PPM will provide strategic project management, governance and partnership coordination across a complex multi-agency environment. You will manage procurement and consultant teams, coordinate governance and reporting processes and support decision-making across the partnership.
  • The role requires someone who can navigate complexity, build productive relationships and maintain momentum in an environment with multiple partners and competing priorities.
  • Experience in growth area planning, precinct development, infrastructure delivery, urban planning or a related field will be highly regarded.
  • This is an opportunity to contribute to a project that will help guide the future development of a major growth area and support the long term delivery of jobs, services, infrastructure and investment in Melbourne's north.

The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role:

  • Experience in project management delivery including development and management of high value, complex projects in a large and diverse organisation with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and/or partnership facilitation, including the ability to build and maintain productive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, facilitate collaboration, and align stakeholders to project objectives.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects on time,to budget and to client satisfaction within a structured reporting framework.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting governance structures, advisory committees or partnership boards, including preparation of reports, briefings and recommendations for decision-making.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and a demonstrated understanding of complex procurement processes.
  • Proven ability to manage a project team of external consultants and contractors

Required Certifications & Qualifications:

Relevant tertiary qualification to degree level in project management and/or a related field such as building, architecture, urban planning, landscape architecture, urban design or engineering, or equivalent experience
