As a Principal Software Engineer, you’ll be a hands-on technology leader with deep expertise in Android platform architecture, responsible for designing and delivering innovative mobile solutions. You will uplift capabilities across automation, scalability and reliability while partnering with senior stakeholders to drive software engineering best practices.

  • Are experts in Android software engineering, with a proven track record of delivering scalable and reliable solutions

  • Pioneer innovative architectural approaches and frameworks to solve complex significant challenges to enhance the customer’s experience

  • Act as a force multiplier, empowering engineers across teams through collaboration, mentorship, and sharing best practices to accelerate growth and delivery

  • Champion a culture of technical excellence, driving knowledge sharing to maximise the impact of the engineering community

  • Influence the future state of the technology landscape, shaping the direction of mobile architecture and engineering strategies

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, drive engineering best practices and contribute to the capability uplift of the wider engineering community

  • Stay up-to-date with evolving product design and development tools, techniques and technologies

  • Are confident decision makers, well-versed in influencing the strategic direction the technology landscape

Tech skills  

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We do not expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team; 

  • Programming Languages: Java / Kotlin

  • Libraries: Jetpack Compose, Hilt, Navigation

  • Mobile Architectures: MVVM, Modularisation

  • DevSecOps & Automation: CI/CD pipelines, Gradle, Fastlane, GitHub Actions

  • Testing: Unit Testing, Espresso, Snapshot Testing

  • Cloud & Backend Services: API Design, Firebase, AWS
