As the Principal Integration Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the bank’s integration strategy, driving the transition from traditional application integration to modern, cloud-native, API-driven architectures. This role combines deep technical expertise with strategic leadership, enabling you to influence enterprise-wide integration decisions and set the foundation for future-ready solutions.

You’ll act as a trusted advisor and architectural guide, ensuring integration solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives. You’ll bring a strong platform and product mindset, balancing the immediate needs of the project with longer-term enterprise goals. Your experience across both legacy integration platforms and modern cloud-native technologies will be critical in delivering seamless connectivity across hybrid environments.

About the Role

  • Architect and deliver enterprise-wide integration solutions leveraging cloud-native platforms, APIs, and event-driven architectures.

  • Support teams in selecting appropriate integration technologies, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and strategies.

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on integration design and patterns. Together with the architecture team, support the development of integration strategies, roadmaps, and capability uplift plans to support digital transformation

  • Lead the transition from legacy middleware to modern integration patterns (API-first, microservices, serverless)

  • This role will require you to both guide and develop the banks enterprise wide integration strategy and assist one of our key programs to incorporate and adopt the identified approach into one of our critical programs

  • Partner with Cloud, Security, and Application teams to ensure seamless integration across hybrid and multi-cloud environments

  • Provide architectural oversight for integration design, ensuring scalability, resilience, and performance

  • Research and recommend emerging technologies (iPaaS, container orchestration, event streaming) to enhance integration capabilities

  • Mentor and guide technical teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement

  • Actively participate in architecture forums and governance boards, influencing strategic decisions

About You

  • Proven experience in enterprise integration architecture, with a strong focus on cloud-native and API-driven solutions

  • Deep understanding of modern integration patterns (REST, GraphQL, event-driven, pub/sub) and platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, Boomi, Azure Integration Services, AWS EventBridge)

  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless architectures

  • Experience with REST, API and file transfer driven integration strategies

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation for integration deployments

  • Knowledge of security, compliance, and governance in cloud integration contexts
