As the OCT (Operations Central Team) MTE Materials Cash Cost Leader at Micron Technology, you will drive material cost reduction for Front End manufacturing. You will lead Value Engineering (VE), alternate sourcing, consumption optimization, and materials strategy to deliver year-on-year Cost per Gigabit improvement.
This role combines technical expertise and strategic leadership, with broad cross-functional impact across the network.
You will work closely with Cost teams, Global Procurement, CPEE, Technology Development, Fab teams, and suppliers. Key materials include Chemicals, Film & Gas, Photo, and CMP.
Responsibilities:
Drive Materials Cost Strategy and Goals
  • Define and guide short- and long-term materials cost strategies aligned with manufacturing priorities and business goals
  • Lead initiatives across multiple functions to identify, prioritize, and deliver cost reduction opportunities with measurable results
  • Provide technical leadership in handling expenditures related to materials, guiding priorities and decisions across sites
  • Define program scope, goals, timelines, and resources with collaborators
  • Establish and improve methodologies, governance, and tools to scale and sustain cost programs

Technical Leadership and Program Management
  • Structure and lead programs across multiple initiatives, including prioritization, breakthroughs, tracking, and risk management
  • Develop cases, execution plans, and provide regular updates to partners and leadership
  • Identify technical and operational challenges early and drive timely solutions
  • Maintain effective governance and review cadence to support decisions and execution
  • Partner with sites, engineering, and procurement teams to convert ideas into implemented solutions and realized savings

Cross-Site Leadership and Influence
  • Act as a subject matter resource in materials cost and value engineering, providing mentorship to collaborators and senior leaders rs
  • Strengthen alignment across sites by sharing validated practices and standardizing approaches
  • Influence collaborators across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and suppliers using data-driven insights and clear problem solving
  • Support analytics, automation, and digital tools to improve cost transparency and execution

Communication
  • Provide clear and consistent updates to leadership and collaborators on priorities, progress, risks, and decisions
  • Communicate program direction, business impact, and key changes across teams and regions
  • Translate technical updates into concise, actionable insights for decision-making

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field, with 10+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, materials, or cost optimization
  • Strong understanding of Front End processes and materials, with proven track record to lead complex, multi-functional initiatives
  • Experience with analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
  • Able to effectively prioritize challenging demands and deliver results
  • Experience in governance, analytics, or automation is welcome; determined and effective in a fast-paced, global environment
  • Willingness to travel as needed
