We have an exciting opportunity at nbn for a Privacy Lead. This role will report to the Executive Manager Privacy.
A bit about your role
As a Privacy Lead, you will play an influential role in uplifting privacy practices across nbn and embedding privacy into the way we design and deliver products and services. You will advise stakeholders on meeting their compliance obligations and managing privacy risks within their business units in a dynamic regulatory environment, ensuring privacy becomes a core capability that underpins trust, innovation, and customer loyalty.
In this role, you will provide advice to stakeholders, helping them integrate privacy into everyday decision-making and operational processes, and manage incoming request priorities through the platform. You will lead initiatives that strengthen privacy culture, from developing policies and controls to delivering education programs and supporting Privacy Awareness Week activities, to name a few. Your work will involve ensuring compliance with the Australian Privacy Principles and maintaining human oversight where automation is introduced.
A bit about you
The successful candidate is a strategic thinker with a good understanding of privacy law and its practical application in complex environments. You bring experience in privacy, compliance, or risk management, and you are confident in balancing regulatory requirements with operational imperatives. Your ability to build relationships and influence across diverse teams is key - you thrive on collaboration and have the emotional intelligence to bring people on the privacy journey.
You are proactive and solutions-focused, with a mindset that embraces innovation while safeguarding trust. Your experience with privacy controls and assurance work will be highly regarded, as will familiarity with AI governance and data ethics. Above all, you are passionate about embedding privacy by design and creating a culture where privacy is not just a requirement but a shared commitment to doing what’s right for customers and the community.
