About the Role

Portland Aluminium is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to join its Technical team in a permanent role on a family-friendly Monday–Friday roster. The role focuses on monitoring process variables, driving improvements, leading investigations, and enhancing plant operations, efficiency, and product quality within your assigned area.

Key activities in the role are:

  • Secure capital investment by developing and updating production upgrade and cost reduction plans.

  • Improve smelter efficiency through standard methodologies and daily management practices.

  • Support production growth and technical improvements through process problem-solving and plant trials.

About you

To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:

  • Tertiary qualification in Chemical Engineering (or related discipline); similar engineering backgrounds considered.

  • Process plant experience.

  • Strong communication skills across all business levels.

  • Ability to develop and maintain effective process management systems.

  • Strong commitment to environmental, health, and safety standards.

A consistent record in pro-active problem solving with your use of initiative and a desire to continuously improve business performance will be utilised in a dynamic team environment!

About the Location

Our Portland Smelter is a joint venture between Alcoa of Australia (55%), CITIC (22.5%) and Marubeni Aluminium Australia (22.5%).
