Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Category Manager to join our GSA (Procurement) Electronics team. This role involves developing and implementing strategic category management plans to align with ResMed’s operational and strategic goals, ensuring the seamless integration of supply chain needs and future product innovations.

Let's Talk About the Role:

  • Develop and implement strategic category management plans in assigned commodity groups, aligning with business needs, innovation, cost, supplier performance, and risk management.

  • Drive integrated category solutions in sync with the product development roadmap to meet ResMed’s quality, innovation, and cost requirements.

  • Coordinate with key internal stakeholders for supplier tiering, evaluation, selection, and acceptance in compliance with ResMed’s Quality Management System.

  • Provide clear guidance to internal stakeholders on selection criteria and drive the supplier selection and approval process with cross-functional teams, including business continuity management or risk assessments/migrations.

  • Execute procurement activities for new product introductions with selected suppliers, supporting project schedules.

  • Create and execute RFI/RFP/RFQ in collaboration with key internal stakeholders.

  • Identify opportunities and ensure supplier alliances and relationships have strong supplier metrics, continuously improving supplier performance through measurement, monitoring, and reporting.

  • Develop and implement supplier management programs with key suppliers and internal stakeholders through regular structured Business Reviews, including metrics, performance goals, and improvement initiatives.

  • Develop and execute detailed negotiation plans with price benchmarking analysis to achieve business goals and savings objectives.

  • Ensure that category management strategies maintain ResMed’s leadership in technology, quality, and cost while ensuring sustainability through innovative strategies.

  • Mitigate supply disruption and ensure procurement of direct materials supports appropriate customer service levels and optimal procurement outcomes.

  • Identify and qualify opportunities for long-term relationships, partnerships, and alliances within the supply base and product development roadmap.

  • Prepare, refine, and implement contract frameworks with strategic suppliers to secure pricing, guarantee quality supply, minimize innovation capital, protect technology, and minimize risk.

  • Maintain thorough knowledge of ResMed’s Quality System to work within established policies and procedures, identifying opportunities for process improvement and facilitating team engagement in continuous improvement activities.

  • Share learnings to generate world-class quality work and disseminate knowledge throughout the Category and New Product Management Team.

  • Handle additional projects as assigned.

Let's Talk about Qualifications and Experience:

Required:

  • Degree qualification in Engineering, Science, or a related Business discipline.

  • Proven category management or procurement experience.

Preferred:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a category management or strategic procurement role.

  • Strong track record of cross-functional stakeholder management in a technology-driven product development or manufacturing environment.
