Are you a commercially sharp procurement professional who can build a sourcing function, challenge established practices and deliver measurable savings?

Expo Centric is looking for a hands-on Procurement & Sourcing Specialist to establish and lead a more structured approach to procurement across our Australian operations. You’ll take ownership of strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations and supply management across our factories in Sydney, Victoria and Western Australia.

This is not an administrative purchasing or coordinator role. We need someone who can build the procurement framework while personally handling sourcing, negotiation, analysis and supplier management. Manufacturing procurement and international sourcing, particularly from China, will be your initial priorities.

At Expo Centric, we don’t just fill roles; we build teams that create extraordinary experiences. You’ll join a fast-moving, growing business where your work will directly influence costs, supplier performance, stock availability and operational efficiency.

Our work is guided by five core values: Courage, Curiosity, Selflessness, Judgement and Communication.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and implement a practical group procurement framework, bringing together purchasing activities currently managed across different departments and locations.
  • Take commercial ownership of high-value manufacturing categories, including MDF, Dibond/ACM, packaging, production consumables and other project or stock-related requirements.
  • Develop domestic and international sourcing channels, with a significant focus on identifying, assessing and managing suppliers in China.
  • Lead the full supplier lifecycle, from research, evaluation and onboarding through to negotiation, performance management, corrective action and supplier transition.
  • Analyse group spending and consolidate purchasing across factories and offices to improve pricing, freight efficiency, commercial terms and supply reliability.
  • Work closely with Finance, Operations, factory teams and inventory management to forecast requirements, manage risks and make commercially sound purchasing decisions.

You’ll also review operational spending across areas such as IT hardware, uniforms, workwear, PPE and office supplies, identifying opportunities for better supplier arrangements and group-wide efficiencies.

What You Bring

  • Demonstrated strategic procurement or sourcing experience, with clear examples of suppliers you personally identified, negotiations you led and measurable savings you delivered.
  • Proven experience building or implementing procurement systems, processes or supplier frameworks within a business where purchasing was decentralised or still developing.
  • Strong international sourcing experience, ideally involving direct engagement with Chinese suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Excellent commercial judgement, negotiation and relationship-management skills, with the confidence to challenge supplier terms and internal purchasing requirements constructively.
  • Strong analytical and technical capability across advanced Excel, ERP or inventory systems, procurement platforms, reporting tools, automation and AI-enabled research or analysis.
  • Experience leading or developing a team, together with the ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and stakeholders across different locations, cultures and business functions.

Experience sourcing manufacturing materials, managing inventory across multiple locations or working in exhibition, signage, display or comparable manufacturing environments will be highly regarded. Mandarin language skills are advantageous.

You should also be willing to travel to China when required for supplier meetings, factory inspections and material reviews.

Why Join Expo Centric?

  • Build a procurement function with genuine ownership and the backing to improve how the business operates.
  • Make a visible commercial impact across three Australian factories and our wider group operations.
  • Work directly with senior leaders and stakeholders across Finance, Operations, inventory and production.
  • Help develop future procurement capability, including the potential to build and oversee purchasing support in the Philippines.
  • Join a supportive, values-driven company that is growing quickly and ready to act on strong commercial ideas.

Submit your CV and a short cover letter outlining:

  • A procurement process or system you have built or significantly improved.
  • An example of a supplier you sourced and the commercial terms you negotiated.
