Job Description

Join TAL’s Individual Life Product Development team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our life insurance products. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to one of Australia’s leading life insurers, where your ideas and expertise will directly influence how we design, deliver, and optimise products that protect what matters most to Australians.

As part of a collaborative, high-performing team, you’ll work across a broad range of initiatives from launching innovative new products to refining existing ones that better serve our customers and partners. This role will see you working closely with experts across pricing, legal, risk, distribution, and operations, giving you the exposure and influence to drive meaningful change.

We’re looking for someone with a “can-do” attitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the confidence to lead complex projects through to delivery. This position is based in our Sydney office, with a minimum of three days per week in-office.

In this role you will:

In this role you will be part of TAL’s Individual Life Product Development team, contributing to the shaping and evolution of our product portfolio. The team is responsible for developing and maintaining TAL’s Individual Life products to meet changing customer, partner, and market demands.

  • Lead and support key product development initiatives that enhance TAL’s Individual Life product suite, aligning with business strategy and evolving customer and partner needs.
  • Own the product change lifecycle – from technical design and documentation through to implementation, launch, and ongoing optimisation.
  • Drive change management activities to support product enhancements and regulatory updates, including drafting Product Disclosure Statements, training materials, and internal communications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including pricing, legal, risk & compliance, health services, distribution, and operations, to deliver robust and compliant product solutions.
  • Manage governance activities, developing product specifications, IT business requirements, and operational rules that underpin product delivery.
  • Provide proactive support on product and technical matters across the business, contributing your expertise to claims management, distribution, and day-to-day operations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in product management or development within life insurance, financial services, or a related field.
  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills, you can navigate complex conversations with confidence and clarity.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical thinking, with the ability to translate ideas into practical outcomes.
  • A proactive and resilient mindset you stay motivated and solution-focused when challenges arise.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience developing product documentation and communication materials.
