Job Description

For a winning team that is evolving.  Forward with Cuscal.

Ever tapped your phone to buy a morning coffee, or made a purchase from your favourite online store? Chances are, we’ve made it happen.

At Cuscal, we’ve been at the forefront of payments innovation for almost 60 years, enabling seamless, secure solutions that millions of Australians rely on every day. From launching Australia’s first ATM to being the first certified Australian fast payments Payer and Initiator in 2022, we’ve always pushed boundaries — and we’re not stopping now.

We are a listed public company (ASX:CCL) and one of five licensed banks in Australia with full direct connectivity and production capability across all domestic payment systems. Whilst the major banks leverage this capability for their consumer and business clients, our B2B model focuses on enabling other banks, fintech’s and corporates to deliver innovative and competitive payment and digital solutions to their clients and customers.

We are looking for a Product Manager to join our Payments team.

The Payments Domain at Cuscal is responsible for setting and delivering our strategic vision for real‑time, account‑to‑account payments. Reporting to the Head of Payments, the Product Manager will drive the end‑to‑end strategy and be accountable for product performance and P&L across our NPP product portfolio -with a particular focus on NPP payments, PayTo, and Confirmation of Payee (CoP)

As the voice of the client to internal stakeholders, you will ensure customer needs are understood and met, partnering closely with the Product Owner and squad to deliver the roadmap.

About the Role:

  • Shape Australia’s Account‑to‑Account future by delivering NPP Bulk solutions and leading the migration from BECS to modern, real‑time payment rails.

  • Design innovative real-time payment value propositions that differentiate Cuscal’s position in the market as a B2B payments provider and manage the Product performance, in alignment with the Product roadmap, strategy and budget.

  • Ensure that there are clearly defined product requirements, SLAs aligned to market needs, pricing models and distribution channels.

  • Manage the integration of new product development or product change into existing processes.

  • Ensure that all products, services, and activities are compliant with all forms of regulation, legislation and/or policies.

  • Clearly understand the relationship between the clients and Cuscal and take every opportunity to enhance the relationship with our clients.

  • Develop, prepare, and deliver presentations or communications on products and services to clients and other interested parties to assist in the education process and marketing of Cuscal’s products.

  • Stay up to date on industry trends and new developments in payments technology to evaluate product competitiveness and drive a competitive roadmap.

About You:

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience in financial services, delivering SaaS and/or B2B products (payment services experience highly regarded)

  • You can envision the big picture while meticulously attending to the details.

  • You have a keen sense for outstanding products and advocate for new features using both qualitative and quantitative reasoning.

  • You do whatever it takes to ensure the success of your product and team, with a demonstrated track record of problem solving and lateral thinking.

  • You can transform incomplete, conflicting, or ambiguous inputs into clear action plans.

  • Strong communication skills with an ability to story tell and influence multiple stakeholders.

  • You possess enough technical knowledge to engage engineers in meaningful discussions about architecture and product decisions.
