About This Opportunity
H2O.ai builds open, trusted AI platforms used by some of the world’s largest organizations. Our products span AutoML, GenAI, AI agents, evaluation, deployment, and governance and they’re used in real, messy, high-stakes environments.
We’re looking for a Product Manager based in the APAC region who will act as a product liaison across all H2O.ai products for customers in that geography.
This role is not about owning a single product area. Instead, it’s about deep customer understanding, sharp product judgment, and strong communication: connecting what customers say they want with what they actually need and translating that into actionable product insight for our teams.
If you love talking to customers, asking great follow-up questions, running demos, and turning fuzzy feedback into clear product direction, this role is for you.
This position is based in Sydney, Australia.

What You Will Do
Be the Product Voice of APAC Customers

  • Build strong relationships with customers through in-person and virtual meetings across the APAC region.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer workflows, constraints, and success criteria, not just feature requests.
  • Ensure customers feel genuinely heard, even when the answer is “not yet” or “that’s not the right solution.”
Translate Feedback Into Real Product Insight
  • Identify when a “feature request” is actually:
    • a technical implementation issue
    • a configuration misunderstanding
    • a missing workflow
    • or a deeper unmet customer goal
  • Ask the hard follow-up questions to get to the root of the problem.
  • Push back constructively when needed, not always saying yes, but always with empathy and clarity.
  • Turn customer feedback into:
    • clear product requirements
    • written specs or PRDs
    • actionable input for engineering and design
Demo, Learn, Repeat
  • Learn the H2O.ai product suite deeply enough to run high-quality, confident demos.
  • Read the room during demos:
    • hear the real questions behind the questions
    • capture objections, confusion, and excitement in real time
  • Translate demo feedback into structured product learnings.
Partner Internally
  • Act as a bridge between customers, sales, solutions engineering, and product/engineering teams.
  • Share customer patterns and regional insights to inform roadmap decisions.
  • Help prioritize work by explaining why something matters, not just who asked for it.
What We Are Looking For
Core Skills & Mindset
  • Strong people skills: you enjoy talking to customers and can build trustquickly.
  • Excellent listening skills, paired with the confidence to challenge assumptions.
  • Ability to push back thoughtfully and productively.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, especially when explaining customer problems.
  • High curiosity and excitement about AI products and how they’re used in the real world.
Product & Technical Aptitude
  • Experience in product management, solutions engineering, technical consulting, or a similar customer-facing product role.
  • Enough technical depth to:
    • understand ML / AI system architectures at a high level
    • recognize when a request is implementation-specific vs product-level
  • Familiarity with data science or ML tooling (Python, notebooks, ML platforms) is a plus, but perfect expertise is not required, learning fast is.
How to Stand Out From the Crowd
  • Experience working with enterprise customers.
  • Experience translating customer needs into PRDs, specs, or roadmap inputs.
  • Comfort working across time zones and cultures.
  • Prior exposure to AI, ML platforms, or data products.
Why H2O.ai?
  • Market leader in total rewards
  • Remote-friendly culture
  • Flexible working environment
  • Be part of a world-class team
  • Career growth
