Challenger Limited is an ASX-listed investment management firm managing $123.9 billion in assets (as at 30 June 2025). Life with us is fast moving and always exciting. Together we’re driving to deliver our vision to provide our customers with financial security for a better retirement.

We achieve this goal by providing a work environment where people from diverse backgrounds, with a range of skills and experiences can contribute and succeed.

Product Owner – Corporate Systems

• Our corporate enterprise systems sit at the heart of Finance, HR, Risk, and Legal — we’re looking for a Product Owner to drive delivery, optimisation, and support across these critical platforms.
You’ll be a hands-on Product Owner who thrives in a complex environment, balancing business priorities with system reliability, compliance, and continuous improvement.
• We offer a flexible hybrid model based out of our Martin Place, Sydney CBD office — typically three days in-office and two days from home.

About the opportunity

This role spans product ownership, vendor and partner management, and broader corporate systems enablement.

You’ll work closely with Finance, HR, Risk, and Legal teams, alongside delivery partners, to ensure our core platforms remain reliable, secure, and future-ready.

Your time will focus on three key areas: platform ownership, agile delivery leadership, and vendor management — with Workday ownership as the primary focus.

Product Ownership

  • Lead the Workday platform team, ensuring effective support, run, and change activities — aligned with organisational priorities, compliance, and business outcomes.

  • Own the backlog lifecycle — from requirement scoping and user story creation to prioritisation, testing support, and release management.

  • Partner with delivery partners and internal teams to manage capacity, ensuring clear and transparent updates on progress and outcomes.

  • Plan for upgrades, new modules, and automation opportunities to keep systems evolving with business needs.

  • Stay across industry trends and emerging technologies, assessing their value for adoption.

Agile Delivery & Vendor Management

  • Facilitate agile delivery — lead sprint planning, backlog refinement, and reviews with internal teams and partners.

  • Manage vendor and partner relationships to deliver changes, resolve issues, and meet service levels.

  • Ensure compliance and security standards are met across integrations and processes.

What we’re looking for

You’re someone who:

  • Delivers outcomes through structure, prioritisation, and strong stakeholder engagement.

  • Thrives in a complex environment with multiple systems, vendors, and delivery partners.

  • Understands the importance of compliance and risk in corporate systems delivery.

  • Confident running agile ceremonies, managing backlogs, and driving cross-functional alignment.

You’ll also bring:

  • Proven Workday experience across both Finance and HR.

  • Experience in corporate systems product ownership or business systems leadership.

  • Strong understanding of system integrations (file-based, APIs, inbound/outbound patterns).

  • Demonstrated experience managing vendors and outsourced delivery teams.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Why Challenger?

At Challenger, we’re small enough to be agile, but big enough to accelerate bold ideas. We support your growth and development, offering flexibility and a culture that values your unique contributions.

Some of the benefits you’ll enjoy:

• Discretionary bonus scheme

• Extra superannuation contributions
