So, what’s the role all about? 

As a Product Owner, you will be responsible for maximizing the value of the project/product through the work of the Development Team. The role is required to convey and motivate the project vision to the scrum team, in order to deliver quality projects/products on time.  

How will you make an impact?  

  • Bringing clarity to what is needed for the Product, and why it is so
  • Collaborating with the business stakeholders anticipating and understanding requirements for prioritized initiatives, and translating these into well-defined user stories
  • Maintaining a sprint and product backlog, balanced with optimization and tactical initiatives. Keeping a healthy amount of user stories ready and identifying opportunities to make development more efficient through grouping of stories.
  • Working closely with your counterparts within the team to deliver incremental product enhancements, supporting the team to ensure acceptance criteria and expected outcomes are met. This includes actively leading and participating in scrum ceremonies, including grooming, retros, planning and standups, which creates a smooth operating rhythm for delivery. You will ensure stakeholders are deeply engaged and informed on delivery and release updates.
  • Partnering with the Product Lead in exploring and refining roadmap initiatives, working to execute and iteratively deliver on the product roadmap by translating a high-level vision into a series of incremental deliveries
  • Conducting analysis of incidents and problems as they arise on the product, making seamless the processes of root cause and solution identification, whilst working with the Product Lead to prioritize any fixes into the sprint backlog
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to increase the velocity and quality of work to deliver value to customers faster
  • Building great client relationships and becoming the trusted advisor for the customers where required
  • Becoming the voice of the customer internally and communicating their issues clearly through to resolution or workaround
  • Inputting into the product development roadmap, including inputting ideas, feedback from customers and assisting in validating releases prior to general release
  • Helping to validate that story outcomes are met and communicating with the stakeholders on acceptance criteria
  • Other duties as assigned 

Have you got what it takes?  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Interaction Design, HCI, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 1 – 3 years of proven experience as a Product Owner or a similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects
  • Experience within a B2B software environment
  • Experience working with Contact Center or CRM technologies would be highly valued, as would knowledge of CRM platforms including Salesforce, Zendesk and Kustomer
  • Experience working closely with Design, Engineering, Product and Customer Stakeholders in an Agile environment, with the ability to translate high level requirements into well-defined user stories 

You will have an advantage if you also have: 

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, appropriately balancing between delivering work in progress and ensuring upcoming requirements are ready to support the sprint backlog and the squad
  • Capacity to lead and energize the team, orienting them around the sprint goal, working to create a high performing team
  • Strong critical thinking and business acumen to make the right decision to rapidly deliver the optimal outcome for the customer
