About the Role

Our Construction Industries team is seeking a passionate and customer-focused Product Support Sales Representative (PSSR) to join our Central Queensland Support team. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based in Mackay.

Reporting to the Product Support Sales Manager – Regional, this role is pivotal in developing strong, trusted relationships with customers across a defined territory. You will deliver aftermarket solutions that support equipment performance and reduce total cost of ownership.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with assigned customers, understanding their business drivers and service needs.
  • Develop and execute Account and Territory Plans in alignment with performance targets.
  • Own and manage the sales funnel using CRM to identify, track, and progress all parts and service opportunities.
  • Conduct equipment inspections (e.g., CTS, TA1/TA2) to identify health risks and generate proactive service opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate equipment and customer data in CRM, ensuring all interactions and issues are recorded.
  • Resolve parts, warranty, or service issues in collaboration with internal stakeholders to improve customer satisfaction and uptime.
  • Promote Caterpillar service offerings including CVAs, Repair Options, Rebuilds, and Digital Platforms (HD360, VisionLink, Cat Inspect, Cat Central).
  • Monitor competitive activity, fleet movements, and equipment age to identify new or at-risk opportunities.
  • Communicate our value delivery and business initiatives through regular meetings with key customer influencers.
  • Driving initiatives that demonstrate the value, capability, and quality of Hastings Deering’s business solutions to achieve budgeted parts and service targets.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a customer-facing role within the heavy earthmoving or related industry.
  • Proven experience managing a large and diverse customer base with strong territory management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build long-term, value-driven relationships that enhance business outcomes.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant trade qualifications (desirable).
  • Knowledge of Caterpillar products and Hastings Deering systems (desirable).
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and strong capabilities in sales execution, customer acquisition, and account management.
  • Strong communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills with a focus on customer experience.
