The Production Engineer will enhance production processes, oversee assembly and testing equipment, and manage supplier materials to improve efficiency and address production issues.
About the role
We are looking for a stand out Production Engineer to help us drive a mass production ramp, implement process improvements and ensure new product introduction is seamless.
What your day could look like
- Building and refining process that is scalable to meet increased production capacity and deliver high volumes of product.
- Developing assembly and test equipment.
- Proactively solving component and assembly issues to keep production unblocked.
- Planning critical materials to ensure collars are flowing.
- Organising production schedules and materials from suppliers to support fast pace R&D iterations.
- Investigating defective products and implementing corrective actions.
- Utilise engineering principles to solve challenging problems throughout the production lifecycle
- Continually improve production processes to achieve commercial objectives eg. On-time, high quality output and cost effective.
- Maintain up to date detailed documentation of production process
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s degree (Engineering/Technical).
- Driving results from key external partners e.g. contract manufacturers and suppliers.
- Providing constructive Design for Manufacturing input to product designers.
- Reviewing production reports and communicating production status internally.
- Experience in high volume electronics manufacturing.
- Generating and maintaining well defined production documentation - e.g. bills of materials and standard operating procedures.
- Maintaining production through engineering change control.
- Experience working with electronic resource planning and product lifecycle management systems.
- Validating production processes to ensure production reliability.
- Interpreting engineering drawings and electronic schematics.
- Exceptional negotiation skills.
- Developing jigs and fixtures for mass production.
