About us:
Glitch Productions is an independent animation studio based in Australia making original, long form animated shows distributed on Youtube. Our channel has over 16 million subscribers, tens of millions of views per episode and is still growing strong. Our studio is filled with incredibly talented and passionate artists that are determined to change the way animation is produced and treated in the industry. Our biggest IP; Digital Circus, has amassed over 350 million views on the pilot alone and we have a lot more still to come.

Role Information:
Glitch Productions is looking for a Production Finance Manager to oversee and manage the financial operations of our animation productions. This role will see you working closely with our producers and general finance manager to: create budgets, track expenditures, forecast overages, evaluate production bids, and generate reports required for governmental compliance and tax offset applications. Reporting directly to the COO, you will be instrumental in helping keep our shows on budget so that they have the resources they need to create something exceptional.

Your duties will include:

  • Creating detailed budgets and cost breakdowns for our upcoming productions, based on historical data and information provided by producers.
  • Tracking all production expenditure, including wages, contractors, equipment, and overheads, and assigning them to the relevant series and episode.
  • Collaborating with the producer and operations teams to create financial tracking and analysis systems compatible with existing production and project management software.
  • Forecasting potential overages using trend analysis and providing detailed information to producers in order to prevent or justify that figure.
  • Assist with bi-monthly payroll submissions for production staff and work expenses.
  • Regularly reporting to producers and COO on departmental and team budgets and spending.
  • Assisting in the submission of tax offset applications by providing accurate financial reports and revenue figures.
  • Calculating and paying residuals and royalties in line with industry and union guidelines.

A successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in production accounting, with a particular emphasis on the animation industry.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel and accounting software - preferably Xero.
  • Experience working with small and medium-budget productions, including the production process and pipeline.
  • Familiarity with Australian tax regulations and offsets available for media production services.
  • Experience working with non-Australian studios and governments, and any regulations and tax requirements therein.
  • Immaculate attention to detail, with an extremely organized workstyle and a love of problem solving.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and time management skills.

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience in accounting related industries such as events, marketing, and merchandise.
  • Experience using production tracking software such as Flow (previously known as Shotgrid).
  • An understanding of SAG-AFTRA scale and residual guidelines.
  • An understanding or experience with the arts, animation, gaming, and/or ‘internet nerd’ culture.

What we offer:

  • A competitive starting salary with reviews every 6 months.
  • A flexible work arrangement and schedule, with options for work from home and flexi-hours.
  • A casual and fun office environment where individual input is valued.
  • Regular work functions and free entry to conventions and events.
  • Relocation assistance for workers wishing to move to Sydney.
  • Close to public transport in the heart of Parramatta CBD.
  • Paid for gym memberships.
  • Regular company breakfasts/lunches.
  • A diverse team that values independent input and career development.
