- Lead, develop, and empower team members.
- Support Manager to achieve divisional budget targets to maximize profitability and manage program spending.
- Achieve technical confidence to challenge current standards and progress division to the next level.
- Must support quality, safety, environmental and sustainability objectives.
- Take every precaution reasonable to protect the health and safety of the workforce.
- Ensure the workplace is safe and assign safe work.
- Ensure unsafe actions or unsafe conditions have been identified, corrected and / or eliminated.
- Advise workforce of any health & safety concerns that they are aware of.
- Assist in the training of workers to ensure the work is done safely
- Ensure the safe use of equipment and the proper use of protective devices and PPE where required.
- Cultivate a work culture that focuses on continually improving upon all elements the Employee Opinion Survey
- Understanding & adherence to the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the intention of grievance avoidance
- Supports staffing, facility and equipment requirements related to department.
- Supports with the identification and implementation of corrective & preventive action for any non-conformance within their jurisdiction or for any non-compliance identified during customer / internal and / or external audit

- Responsible for ensuring adherence to daily 5S activities and cleaning schedule.
- Work with other departments towards overall plant goals.
- Any other requests deemed reasonable by management.
Job Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with overseeing the daily operation of the Assembly Department and support all other departments.
- Assist with the management of the operations activities to meet customer requirements.
- Assist with shift and production run changes to ensure on-time delivery of quality products.
- Participate in the review of new product designs, process design changes, to ensure manufacturability.
- Participates in manpower requirements planning and overtime scheduling.
- Responsible for improvement initiatives related to Key Operating Indicators assigned by Manager.
- Assist in defining the standardized work & ensure team members are suitably trained & re-trained as required
- Monitor process parameters and ensure they are within specification and react accordingly when issues arise.
- Ensure product quality meets customer drawing requirements.
- Ensures safe use of all hand tools, lockout, AGV awareness and forklifts within department jurisdiction
Qualifications
- Education: College Diploma or equivalent in experience
- Experience: Minimum 2 years Supervisory / Leadership experience preferred. Experience in a Tier 1, Unionized, JIT Facility an asset.
- Characteristics: Able to communicate effectively with coworkers; Effective trouble shooting; Possess leadership skills; Promotes teamwork; Instills empowerment; Ability to uphold confidentiality & integrity. Must be willing to work various shifts and work overtime.
- Technical: Knowledge of pneumatic hand tools and equipment troubleshooting preferred.
