We are seeking an experienced Program Financial Manager to play a hands‑on, delivery‑focused role within our major SAP transformation program. This 12 month fixed‑term position is responsible for the day‑to‑day and forward‑looking financial management of the program, ensuring the right financial insights, controls, and governance are in place to support high‑quality executive and Steering Committee decision‑making.

Embedded within the Program Leadership team and PMO, this role suits someone who thrives in large‑scale transformation, enjoys partnering with delivery leaders, and is comfortable operating with urgency, precision, and accountability.

What You’ll Be DoingProgram Financial Control
  • Own the integrated financial position for the entire SAP program (actuals, forecasts, outlook).
  • Ensure spending remains within the approved funding envelope.
  • Identify financial risks, pressures, and variances early.
  • Maintain clear audit trails and governance consistent with organisational standards.
Forecasting, Reporting & Executive Support
  • Produce monthly financial reporting for Program Leadership and the Steering Committee.
  • Deliver accurate variance analysis and forward‑looking commentary.
  • Support rolling forecast cycles with disciplined assumptions aligned to delivery plans.
  • Provide scenario and sensitivity analysis to support deployment, phasing, and scope decisions.
Change Request & Contingency Governance
  • Lead financial assessments of program change requests.
  • Evaluate cost, funding source, contingency impact, and forecasting implications.
  • Track and report contingency usage, approvals, and remaining balances.
  • Partner with PMO and Workstream Leads to ensure financial impacts are understood before approvals.
Vendor & Commercial Financial Management
  • Manage financial performance of major delivery partners (SAP, SI partners, specialist vendors).
  • Track burn rates, validate invoices and accruals, and monitor contracted vs actual spend.
  • Support commercial discussions with fact‑based financial analysis.
  • Oversee monthly accruals processes and ensure accuracy of vendor financials.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Act as a trusted financial advisor to the Program Director, PMO Lead, and Workstream Leads.
  • Translate complex data into clear, decision‑ready insights.
  • Provide direction to any supporting finance analysts (without formal people management responsibility).
What You BringEssential
  • 10+ years’ experience in program or transformation financial management, ideally within large ERP/SAP programs.
  • Strong track record managing complex technology transformation budgets.
  • Deep understanding of major IT program cost drivers (SIs, licensing, environments, migration, testing, deployment).
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Steering Committees and executive forums.
  • Advanced financial modelling, forecasting, and variance analysis capability.
Desirable
  • Experience in global or phased SAP deployments.
  • Exposure to highly governed or regulated environments.
  • Prior experience in FTC/contract roles within transformation programs.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related field.
  • CPA, CA, or CIMA qualification (preferred).
