About the Opportunity

As a Program Manager, you'll play a key role in leading the planning and delivery of a diverse portfolio of capital maintenance and enhancement programs that help keep our roads safe, reliable, and ready for the future. Through strong commercial acumen, customer-focused thinking, and strategic leadership, you'll help deliver outcomes that create long-term value for our assets, customers, and communities.

You'll join a collaborative team that values partnership, accountability, continuous learning, and collaborative delivery, working together to deliver outcomes that make a lasting difference for our customers and communities.

As our Program Manager, you'll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities. It is complex, meaningful, and exciting work so that our customers experience faster, safer, and more reliable journeys.

How you'll make an impact (your day-to-day):

  • Lead a portfolio of capital works programs, bringing together people, priorities, and resources to deliver outcomes that enhance the performance, safety, and longevity of Transurban's critical assets through effective collaborative delivery and relationship building.
  • Build strong partnerships across engineering, asset management, commercial, legal, and operational teams to align strategy with delivery, influence outcomes, and drive successful program results.
  • Create clarity and confidence through effective governance, critical thinking, risk management, financial stewardship, and stakeholder engagement across a complex portfolio of projects.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering collaboration, growth, adaptability, innovation, and a culture where people can do their best work.
  • Identify opportunities to improve how we deliver projects, applying AI and data literacy, problem solving, and smarter ways of working to create value for the business and the communities we serve.

This role will suit someone with a curious mind and a drive to adapt. We value the transferable skills and experience you could bring, including:

  • Leading complex programs: Successfully delivering large, multi-stream initiatives while balancing priorities, dependencies, budgets, stakeholder expectations, and commercial outcomes.
  • Building trusted relationships: Demonstrated strength in relationship building, influencing and collaborating with diverse stakeholders to achieve shared outcomes, even in complex or fast-changing environments.
  • Thinking strategically: Applying critical thinking and customer-focused thinking to turn long-term goals into practical delivery plans that create lasting value for customers, communities, and the business.
  • Making confident decisions: Using data, insight, AI and data literacy, and sound judgement to manage risk, solve complex problems, and drive progress.
  • Developing people and teams: Creating environments where individuals can grow, embrace adaptability, perform at their best, and contribute to a culture of inclusion, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Taking ownership of your career and development means exploring opportunities that stretch you. We aren't looking for a perfect checklist; we are looking for a strong foundation. If your experience aligns with some of the above and you bring a readiness to adapt, we want to hear from you.
