Join our team of IT superstars! We are looking for a talented Project Engineer to join our Brisbane team who has recent experience of performing project delivery, implementations and deployments. The successful candidate is someone who has the aptitude to learn new technology quickly and can stick to schedule. This role is full time, with hybrid working options, with plenty of variety in projects and current technologies.

What is the role 

The following includes but may not be limited to the responsibilities of the Project Engineer:

  • Lead and deliver technical projects on time and within scope.

  • Develop and review implementation plans using best practices and product documentation.

  • Provide onsite and remote support during project execution.

  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including scope, plans, and deliverables.

  • Conduct solution reviews and assist with accurate project quoting.

  • Track project time and task performance to manage variances.

  • Execute scoped activities and manage change requests as needed.

  • Install, configure, test, and upgrade hardware and IT systems.

  • Troubleshoot hardware and network issues; implement solutions.

  • Serve as an escalation point and mentor for technical teams.

  • Collaborate with clients to understand needs and recommend solutions.

  • Capture detailed technical requirements and support infrastructure design.

  • Create high- and low-level design documents and system procedures.

  • Assist in solution architecture and coordinate with vendors.

  • Support sales with technical input for proposals and tenders.

  • Comply with change management processes and perform peer reviews.

  • Plan and implement solutions within your technical area of expertise.

  • Provide handover to support teams and maintain infrastructure post-project.

  • Continuously develop expertise and contribute to process automation.

  • Accurately log activities and support performance reporting.

Who we are looking for 

  • 5+ years of experience in network infrastructure, including Routing & Switching (BGP, OSPF, VRRP) and SD-WAN.

  • 5+ years of expertise in server and storage systems, including Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, Exchange, Office 365, and virtualization technologies.

  • Solid background in TCP/IP, cloud platforms (Azure, O365), and IT security solutions (SharePoint, OneDrive, Intune, MFA, Email Protection, Essential 8).

  • Proven experience working in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment.

  • Strong track record in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting modern IT solutions.

  • Successfully delivered multiple technical projects.

  • Skilled in managing multi-server infrastructures, including virtualization and clustering.

  • Excellent technical documentation and reporting skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and team collaboration.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Effective written communication skills.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities with logical and lateral thinking.

  • Able to manage time effectively and perform under pressure.

  • Highly client-focused and service-driven.

  • Eagerness to learn continuously and share knowledge with others.
