Position
The Project Engineer – Stringing is responsible for managing the planning, coordination, and execution of stringing activities within transmission line construction projects. This role ensures project execution aligns with safety standards, technical specifications, quality requirements, and schedule commitments, contributing to the successful delivery of high-voltage transmission infrastructure
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement detailed stringing project plans, schedules, and methodologies in alignment with overall construction programs.
- Supervise and coordinate stringing operations, ensuring safe and efficient installation of conductors, earth wires, and OPGW.
- Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation measures to ensure milestones are achieved. Enforce compliance with safety protocols, environmental requirements, and quality standards during stringing operations.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively, including the tracking of costs and preparation of progress claims where required
- Resolve technical issues related to stringing equipment, methods, and alignment tolerances.
- Prepare project documentation, including method statements, inspection test plans, risk assessments, and daily/weekly progress reports
- Develop a program for the scope of works including staging,
- Create (or review) a crane lifting plan including any temporary works associated with ground conditions and lifting beam
Required Skills and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering
- Proven experience in transmission line construction with a strong focus on stringing operations
- Familiarity with Australian Standards, utility guidelines, and relevant industry codes
- Strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills
