The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Proposal Specialist to join the team at KBR. In this role you will be responsible for capture planning, bid management, bid coordination and management aspects of proposal development of key and other strategic pursuits. Providing end-to end bid / proposal management in collaboration with subject matter experts to ultimately achieve on-time and high-quality bid submissions along with the coordination of proposal production, ensuring the integrity of all documentation, following Australian bid work method and related procedures to ensure compliance and meet company proposal standards. You will proactively engage in major/strategic opportunities, partner with the Bid team, consult and provide advice to shape and deliver a strong submission.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Supporting Sales Leads and Operations in key activities: client, competitor and market research, development of documented Core Client Strategies and development of Executive Summaries.

  • Capturing and sharing knowledge specific to key customers, project experience, resources and methodologies, and help implement sales activity throughout our pursuit lifecycles.

  • Leading and facilitating workshops from Lead to Submittal

  • Developing and implementing the proposal management plan and overseeing transition of capture plan into the proposal management plan, mentoring proposal core team on win strategy and solution

  • Project planning and managing proposal process - when not led by Proposals Lead (assist / advise Proposal Lead in creation of proposal program ensuring all proposal writing key milestones are included)

  • Helping to write and guide the development of Executive Summaries

You are a passionate and meticulous professional with a knack for creating high-quality, compelling proposals. With strong writing skills and a collaborative spirit, you excel in managing the full lifecycle of proposal development. Enthusiastic and organised, you thrive in collaborative environments working seamlessly with technical teams to articulate benefits and differentiators. You are ready to make a significant impact in our team.

To be successful in this position you require Tertiary qualifications (ideally English/journalism/communications or related field) along with a minimum 5 years’ direct proposal development experience. You will have an 'eye for detail', organised, have initiative, enthusiastic, professional and committed.

Other requirements include:

  • Tertiary qualification in Communications, English, Journalism, or related field

  • Minimum 5 years’ proposal development experience

  • Strong writing and editing skills with persuasive communication

  • Defence bid experience prefered

  • Excellent coordination and planning abilities

  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

  • APMP Foundation certification (or willingness to obtain)
