As a consumer focused Account Executive at Burson, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering bold PR campaigns and working with some of the most exciting global and local brands. We’re looking for someone with experience in the consumer space and a passion for shaping impactful campaigns. 

If you’re someone who thrive in fast paced environments and are ready to roll up your sleeves and dive into media relations, influencer strategies, and campaign development, we’d love to hear from you. 

What You Will Do 

Client Service 

  • Build strong relationships with clients and stay deeply informed on their brand, market, competitors, and goals
  • Track KPIs and deliverables, helping your team stay aligned and accountable
  • Stay informed by regularly reviewing relevant media and identifying valuable insights or opportunities to share with your team and clients.
  • Understand and uphold Burson’s standards and client expectations, ensuring work is consistently on-brand and on-brief 

Account Handling 

  • Own key admin tasks like reporting and media monitoring
  • Support in securing quality results that ladder up to client KPIs
  • Prep for meetings with polished reports and a clear grasp of your responsibilities always come informed and ready to contribute
  • Learn the ropes of effective negotiation to add value in media, influencer, and third party discussions 

Media & Influencer Relations 

  • Stay curious about the evolving market in Australia
  • Build your database of trusted journalist and influencer contacts and nurture these relationships
  • Practice pitching with confidence, hone your phone and email skills to secure standout media coverage
  • Draft compelling media materials, from releases to pitches and alerts, and take the lead in distribution and follow up
  • Create and maintain accurate, relevant media lists for each campaign 

Financial / New Business 

  • Understand the basics of financial processes
  • Collaborate with your Client Lead on cost approvals and new business pitches offering creative and strategic input where possible 

Wider Agency Thinking 

  • Engage with senior leaders and contribute ideas to drive agency growth and support junior team members 
  • Suggest fresh content for Burson’s marketing channels and internal initiatives
  • Develop a working knowledge of Burson’s services and our broader WPP network
  • Stay curious about disciplines beyond PR like digital, content, or internal comms and bring those insights to the table 

Experience That Contributes To Success 

  • 2–3 years of experience in consumer PR, agency side preferred
  • Strong knowledge of the media and influencer landscape, with an eye for what makes a great story
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and ability to multitask under pressure
  • Creative thinker with a proactive mindset, who thrives in a collaborative team environment
