GumGum is looking for an ambitious, relationship-driven Publisher Development Director to join our team in a hybrid role that blends the thrill of new business acquisition with the satisfaction of nurturing long-term partnerships. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for expanding the digital ad horizon through publisher partnerships – someone who is looking to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of GumGum’s supply presence across the Asia-Pacific region.

You’ll be at the forefront of expanding our publisher network across the dynamic APAC region, sourcing and securing exciting new partnerships that drive growth and innovation. You’ll cultivate strong relationships with our existing publisher partners, providing unparalleled support and strategic guidance to help them achieve their goals. You’ll take true ownership of the entire publisher relationship lifecycle, from initial outreach and onboarding to ongoing account management and growth. You’ll troubleshoot challenges with the support of our technical experts, ensuring a seamless experience for our partners. Finally, you’ll work closely with our Publisher Success team to provide a unified and comprehensive approach to publisher support, maximizing value and satisfaction. What You'll Achieve

New Business Development:

  • Identify, prospect, and onboard new publishers to expand our partner network, target markets being Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines and Indonesia.
  • Develop and execute strategies to drive growth in new business, identifying opportunities for long-term partnerships.
  • Conduct market research to identify interest in our brand, build potential leads and understand industry trends, staying ahead of the competition.
  • Negotiate and close new publisher agreements, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings to build strong relationships with potential publishers.

Account Management

  • Manage and grow relationships with existing publishers, acting as their key point of contact.
  • Collaborate with publishers to maximise revenue opportunities and optimise performance. Upselling any necessary products.
  • Conduct regular check-ins and QBRs to ensure we are aligned as partners and we are maximising the revenue opportunities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any publisher issues by collaborating with the Publisher and our Technical Ad Solutions Team. 
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., sales, product, and operations) to ensure publisher needs are met, along with business needs.
  • Track and report on key account performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations internally and to the Publishers, allowing for continuous improvement.

Skills You'll Bring

  • 6+ years  of experience in digital media/ad tech, with exposure to a network, exchange, or SSP environment
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably within digital publishing, ad tech, or a related industry.
  • Experience in a startup environment desirable
  • Experience with JIRA, Zendesk, Google Sheets, and ticketing systems
  • Willingness to travel within the APAC region.
  • Based in Sydney, Australia, or Singapore.
